Melissa a l’air de passer un peu à l’ouest d’Haïti, ils vont peut être éviter le pire. La Jamaïque en revanche.. Ç’est terrible dans tous les cas.
Fascinante vidéo
After years of complaining about cancel culture, the current administration has taken it to a new and dangerous level by routinely threatening regulatory action against media companies unless they muzzle or fire reporters and commentators it doesn’t like.

#Wildfires in Spain have reached record emissions in just one week according to our #CopernicusAtmosphere data. Every Democratic member of Congress should be in the streets of DC saying this dangerous authoritarian escalation must stop. Do they not grasp what’s going on here?
Short opinion in Nature with my friend Bernard Pinty. Historical climate data records are so essential for monitoring the climate.

Good luck @ec.europa.eu, @esa.int and @eumetsat.int with the launch of MetOp-SG and Sentinel 5 tonight. This is European leadership!
Speechless..
Excellent fil!
Three charts based on #CopernicusClimate data you shouldn’t miss this month:
📈 Europe saw lowest spring river flow since records began in 1992 – #C3S/CEMS
📈 Surface air temperature anomalies across parts of the Northern Hemisphere – CopernicusEU
📈 Marine heatwave in North Atlantic Ocean – C3S

Graphic showing a vertical cross-section of zonal mean temperature trends globally for June from 1979 through 2024. There is a long-term warming trend in the troposphere and cooling in the stratosphere. Red shading is shown for warming trends, and blue shading is shown for cooling trends.
Here is a vertical cross-section view of how temperatures are changing in the atmosphere during the month of June. The x-axis shows each latitude band. The y-axis is representing height in the atmosphere, starting from the near-surface at the bottom & reaching up toward the stratosphere. Data: ERA5.
Our ECMWF colleague Dr @annalombardi.bsky.social speaks to the power of data visualisation in telling the story of our evolving climate. From her cover art based on decades of temperature data to 130+ charts, read how data was converted into easy-to-understand graphics in the #ESOTC2024.
Effective May 5, 2025, NOAA’s National Centers for Environmental Information (NCEI) will decommission its snow and ice data products from the Coasts, Oceans, and Geophysics Science Division (COGS). As a result, the level of services for affected products below will be reduced to Basic—meaning they will remain accessible but may not be actively maintained, updated, or fully supported. This includes Sea Ice Index, Snow Data Assimilation System (SNODAS) Data Products, Glacier Photograph Collection, U.S. National Ice Center Arctic Sea Ice Charts and Climatologies in Gridded Format Gridded Monthly Sea Ice Extent and Concentration, 1850 Onward World Glacier Inventory. If you rely on these products in your work, research, education, or planning, we invite you to share your story at nsidc@nsidc.org. Your input can help us demonstrate the importance of these data sets and advocate for future support.
This is horrible. I don't even know what to say. Some of our most key polar data.

and what about international collaboration, which has so far been instrumental in bringing numerical weather prediction where it is today, if DT decides we scientists can’t talk to each other any longer?
