Taoiseach basically justifying the use of unilateral force because of vetoes at the UN Security Council.
Refusing to condemn the US & Israel attacks as a breach of international law.
Pathetic bending of the knee to the US in advance of Paddy’s day visit. SAD!

A catastrophe for our shared climate. Shame on Trump and his enablers.

Not even lip service to the climate impact of this decision either from the Govt or from RTÉ - cheerleaders for Ireland’s billionaire polluters. Shameful.

I spoke about the Government’s ridiculous proposal to criminalise cyclists who don’t wear helmets 🪖
The fact they even proposed this betrays their complete lack of understanding of what makes our roads unsafe for cyclists & pedestrians 🚗🚙 @labour.ie @dublincycling.bsky.social

I am reminded of the words uttered by a Giro cycle helmet designer in an interview with Carlton Reid in Forbes journal:
“We do not design helmets specifically to reduce chances or severity of injury when impacts involve a car,” said Richter.
“The number of variables is too

Be careful out there folks.
There’s severe flooding in parts of greater Rathfarnham.
Don’t drive into the floods
Check in on your neighbours
Contact our emergency services if you are worried about anyone.

Yes, let’s make cycling safer by ensuring there are fewer cyclists 😳
How many SPADs did it take to come up with this codswollop? 🧐
Just slow down cars, enforce the rules of the road and give us segregated lanes already ✅

TD can't propose congestion motion due to traffic delay
A Labour Party TD who was due to propose a motion on reducing congestion could not do so, because of a traffic delay on the M50 this morning.
Kind of unbelievably, this morning as we launched a Dáil motion on congestion on our roads & the need for flexible working, my colleague @markwalltd was late for the debate as he was stuck in traffic. He had left Athy at 6.30am and wasn’t able to make it on time for a 10am start. Absolute madness🤯

Ireland ‘losing billions of euro in foreign investment’ due to energy grid constraints
Companies choosing to invest elsewhere in Europe because of infrastructure issues here, adviser says
Not clear what investment is being lost but assume its data centres. These bring little economic benefit, put huge strain on the grid now using a 1/4 of generation so driving up electricity prices, and will cost jobs in the long run due to AI. But govt want more?

This is fun and lovely, but we can’t rely on possible future tech like air cleaning (C02 capturing) machines to think we’ll be able to save our planet.
We need to take bigger and more radical steps right now to reduce our emissions!
