My absolute favorite piece of Country Joe McDonald trivia:
Country Joe McDonald, antiwar counterculture icon, dies at 84
That is so great!!
Gas prices here are up $1 a gallon in the past nine days.
So tired of all this "winning."
Best part of my day.
This is good time to remind you all to follow Toni.
Not only is she a great photographer, but she has a ton of historical knowledge about mushing and the Iditarod.
Her blog is a fantastic resource and she always has keen insights into the Race.
And she's a 3rd-generation Iditarod Volunteer, too!
Ah... yes, very tricky.
If he's strong enough, you may want to encourage him to record short videos for his brothers and mom. That type of personal touch might help smooth out any rough spots and prevent hurt feelings.
This is beautiful and profound.
Thanks for sharing it, Mina.
Gorgeous! Where is that?
Also... and I realized now I should have said this first... I am very sorry you are going through this and send much love & strength to all of you.
Most of her posessions had sentimental value instead of actual monetary value... so I am happy that a lot of her things will continue to be well-loved.
Ultimately that's probably what really matters for us.
After my mom died, I made a huge point of letting my brothers know that there was nothing I felt really strongly about having. There were definitely things I wanted, but was happy to defer to them if they felt really strongly about any of it.
Fortunately, we were all on the same page!
It always makes me sad when family members misbehave after someone dies.
I think the goal as a survivor should be to honor the deceased's wishes and memory and not to fight about material things.
Up the London
Thank you. I'm probably always going to have a place in my heart for Lance. He was definitely one of a kind and I still miss following him. πππ
Hi Erika! Nice to (e-)meet you. π
I love early March, when so many of my Facebook memories are about the Iditarod!
Jules Winnfield had kinder words for the motherfuckers he was about to whack in Pulp Fiction than Becca Balint has for Noem here (the full clip is worth a listen).
I was married by the bartender at the northernmost saloon in the world.
According to AAA, the national average of gas prices has gone up $.36 since a month ago.
Endless winning.

Itβs looking increasingly likely that Kristi Noem and Lewandowski funneled almost 200 million in government money to a company that is run by her friend and that nobody can give an address for.
Oh, and it was 8 days old when it was awarded the contract.
Raskin: Based on what you know today, were Renee Good and Alex Pretti domestic terrorists?
Noem: What happened was an absolute tragedy.
Raskin: Were they domestic terrorists?
Noem: My condolences to their families
Raskin: You lied about them.
Does anyone find Gayle King inspiring or extraordinary in her job? It's always baffled me.
The good news, I guess, is we haven't used that shower since before lockdown... so there hasn't been a long period of leaking.
We're already remodeling the other bathroom, so hoping for something not as... um... comprehensive.
We've got someone coming to look at it, but trying to get a sense of best & worst case scenarios...
@kittehofdovrefjel.bsky.social Hey Ben!
If you know... how big a deal is it to repair a leaking shower pan that's likely 50 years old?
(Not going to do it myself, but wondering if this is relatively easy for someone who knows what they're doing or if it will be an endless nightmare.)
Kristie in a hospital bed. The post reads: "Well, canceling my trip to Alaska was the right decision because I am now in the hospital with sepsis. Not sure how long I will be here. Central lines suck!"
This is what she posted yesterday... she asked me to spread the word to all of you.
I asked her if there is an address where folks could send cards... hopefully will hear back.
