To be fair, I think that the Glasgow firefighters had made reassuring noises before 6pm, the fire 'got out of control' officially a bit later on.

We had a 'dark' house until a hotel on a neighbouring hillside decided to light up their car-park. I don't think that planning legislation gets involved with hugely bright outside lights, even when they represent a road hazard.
