Cloudflare has gone for lunch. I've never seen this happen before.

When is it appropriate to wear a Christmas jumper? That's the conversation we're having in the Stewart household right now.
I love it! I'd probably add '(Don't Fear) The Reaper', for the response I get whenever I tell SME's how much of their content I've left out.
I was just having this very conversation with a stakeholder and have shared your blog post with colleagues on MS Teams π
Iβm visiting the UKβs National Robotarium today and have no idea what to expect. Other than robots, AI and data science. Never knew we had something like this, so itβs going to be an interesting day - thenationalrobotarium.com
Home Alone. O Holy Night plays during the church scene. It was the first time I heard that song and itβs been my favourite ever since.
A copy the book Proving Impact by Andrew Jacobs, a highlighter pen, notebook, cappuccino and gloves lay on a coffee table.
Enjoying a rare moment of festive downtime and an excellent book.
Iβve found Claude Sonnet a really good sounding board to bounce ideas off and Iβve been using OpenAIβs advanced voice to help with my end of week reviews of what Iβve done, learned and need to do. Not to mention being excellent proof readers, and Iβve always needed one of those π
Itβs hard enough keeping track of which timezone you are in on any given week πβοΈπ
I appreciate what people are saying about data, but not all data is perfect and is often absurdly out-of-date by the time it reaches you. Getting out there and observing how things work with your own eyes, talking to people (at all levels) should be an essential and enjoyable part of the job.
Be curious about the theory of L&D, but more importantly the context you're working in. Speak to people, network in your organisation and find out what the pain points are. Observe real people using the stuff you make (not just testers) in the context it was meant for. Demonstrate a growth mindset.
Thatβs amazing ππ
Do you ahve your #CPD planned for this week?

Yesterday @tmiket.bsky.social asked about old tools we miss. One of mine, circa 1998, was Corel WebMaster Suite. This is how I got started building websites at 16. It even had a VRML world builder - back when we thought the future of the web would be interconnected 3D spaces you could walk through!
Agree with Delicious. Yahoo Drive for me. Even though there are numerous alternatives now, I just loved the 2000s interface.
Working on a personal #OpenBadges project - building a backpack (digital portfolio for storing and managing badges). Making progress, but still need to figure out AI summarisation and get my head around the Open Badges 3.0 spec.
Observation of 2024: A lot of people I know working in corporate IT seem shocked and horrified when I point out there are other AI large language models beyond Microsoft Copilot.
Using the Midjourney Editor to Change CharacterΒ Expressions
You can use the new Midjourney editor to change the expressions on illustrated character images. See my process and examples.
Thank you, I've just started using Midjourney and this is really useful. It's an excellent example of what to use the editor for.
I've been using Open Badges in workplace learning since 2014 and here's why I believe they're beneficial for modern L&D: https://buff.ly/3ZpUknO #OpenBadges #LearningAndDevelopment
Afraid so. I woke up one morning with it a few years back and it has been there ever since. It fades occasionally and I donβt notice it as much now. Worth having yours checked, it may just be a blockage of the ear or middle ear.
Welcome. I'm new to Bluesky myself, but it really does feel like the entirety of the L&D industry is here.
I immediately thought the pic was AI generated too.
Just received this in the mail. A brand new remake of the ZX Spectrum. I learned to program on the ZX +2 which came a bit later and had a usable keyboard, but the original Spectrum was perfect for games.
Boo to Wordpress or the plugin. They should have thought of that.

Carols are being sung on @classicfm.com, itβs officially the start of Christmas. Iβm sure this gets earlier and earlier every year ππ

Found this in LinkedIn. Quite a dystopian example of possible use if AI in employment in the future. How will employers navigate the ethics of this, and will they even care?

An interesting find Keith. Iβm not as pessimistic as the author. Any βAI ghostβ would be frozen in time and unable to tackle new challenges or innovate. Even AGI will struggle as real world workplaces are never as logical as they appear on paper - office politics, reading the room and emotions etc.
