In that, I was grateful to get this note. Can be a lonely experience designing new, standalone TTRPGs (no hacks, no SRDs) as a part-time, solo, hobbyist.

The frustrating irony of my own GMing is that I have oodles and oodles of random tables in the various binders for the games and campaigns I've run and yet... I rarely, rarely go to them for reference in the middle of a session.

Substack, Medium, and Beehiiv seem to be top of the list for blogging on a hosted platform.

If you want more control, going with WordPress hosted on your own domain & webhost would be the way I'd go, but there are other CMSes out there. I'm just most familiar with WP.

Oh that is a super clever packaging design.

I have to admit that I've never *quite* gotten on with the format of Discord and wracking up dozens of servers with dozens of channels each, so I'm less impacted by this move.

But I respect the hell out of the fact that Discord has fostered a lot of cool tabletop spaces over the past few years.

Yeah, it's all a disturbing example of surveillance overreach in the name of "think of the children!"

Spinning my wheels playing catch up with Hexingtide (monster mash TTRPG) and Rattle & Rend (10mm skirmish wargame), so I'm considering pivoting my home game to something I can lazy GM my way through on autopilot.

No uber-unique worldbuilding here. Just a mishmash of sword & sorcery tropes. WIP map.

Dagum do I love this low fantasy, late medieval analogue of a setting you're building here.

The core rules for 🎃 𝐇𝐄𝐗𝐈𝐍𝐆𝐓𝐈𝐃𝐄 are rock solid, but for my solo creative energy, a mailing list is a better fit than Discord.

Don't mind me, I'm just tagging along, curious about the same.

And here I was hoping for some wholesome old school Milton Bradley action, haha.

Nothing other to post than to say tonight was one of those especially satisfying TTRPG sessions that happen only rarely.

- Cool character interactions
- "That one" player RPing more confidently
- PC growth
- Mechanics clicked
- Setup for an epic showdown

I'm excited for next session. #ttrpgfamily
