what if app.bsky.actor.profile records had a preferredFrontend value? then sites like aturi.to could have the top option be the users preference or even support automatically redirecting them and frontends could have a simple "set as default" option in the settings

ive only used the zai coding plan for months. the difference between their top models and anthropics is nowhere near worth the price difference for me. ive never hit the limits of the cheapest plan.
i also run a small qwen model locally for simple stuff, like tagging and summaries in karakeep.

Music Assistant's mobile app is coming along super well! Its really nice having a good UI for controlling my speakers, the web app works well on desktop but is pretty jank on move.

i added a few music library services a little before the issue started happening, so hopefully its one of them. my first guess is lidarr, since its running on an experimental plugin branch

That's a good idea. I didnt think about it just being some service causing it, I'll give that a try. It hasnt happened in a bit, but for a little while I was getting fs issues after the core dumps, usually had to run an fsck before the next boot.

random services are just core dumping for seemingly no good reason. sometimes I ssh in and try to open isd to view the services and then that also core dumps

how's the glove80? i was deciding between that and the moonlander for months. i mainly picked the moonlander cause i game a lot and thought the contours might feel weird for wasd. if I ever have a separate PC for work it'd prob be my first pick

trying out home row mods on my laptop might be a good idea tbh, I probably wouldn't be nearly as sensitive to any latency as on my gaming PC. configuring it might be a pain but I'm sure theres a guide somewhere for doing it with kanata or keyd

oh this actually made me think about add a ctrl mod for holding capslock/escape. that could be really nice. I'll have to figure out how to do it with kanata for my laptop too

i can imagine home row mods be great for emacs. i use a zsa moonlander and I tried them for a bit, but it added a little extra latency on the home keys that I couldn't get used to. i might have to try them again.
for now I have caps lock set to esc and a more convenient ctrl key which helps a lot

GitHub - anuvyklack/helheim-emacs
Contribute to anuvyklack/helheim-emacs development by creating an account on GitHub.
i found a neat project called helheim that made me want to try it: github.com/anuvyklack/h...
its a config built around a helix emulation layer by the same author. ive been using helix for many years now and I love it, so the closer I can get to it the better

i think this would be my 3rd time trying to learn emacs. first time was with doom and I think I didnt like not understanding all of it since its so heavily preconfigured
second was a minimal base I dont remember the name of, but I was just instantly overwhelmed by the amount of configuration needed

I agree with sporks space design decisions for a new chat platform - federation is a misfeature for hosted chat platforms (use SSO), E2EE is a misfeature for public channels (use apps built for E2EE), voice chats are a space not an event (drop in not scheduled).

i'm sure tons of those commenters were also asking for drafts, but rather than celebrate them being added they just immediately demand more features

my next post on there will probably be about the process of setting it up. with sequoia its basically the same as a standard blog, but i tried a few different ideas before sequoia released. the previous version was written in rust and used a custom script to publish.
