Hmm.
Hmm.
Distinctly remember reading the judgement and saying to friends βuhh I think it means itβs illegal to runs tran-inclusive group at all nowβ and just getting sheer disbelief. Like that couldnβt possibly be the case, silly Mika, always catastrophising
Yeah seriously. I gather the DIY community is rather strong because of it but not great. (Congrats on the bottom surgery btw! Wishing you a swift recovery!)
Yeah. Every so often i look at what id need to do if we moved to Ireland and the answer was βDIYβ. One person i talked to moved to Ireland from Berlin and *flies back every quarter* to renew her meds from her old endo (as a selbstbezahler). Mad
Its funny when things like the Letterbox Year In Review thing really nail you
They will appeal it and its possible that another tribunal will reverse it, similar to the Forstater decision. Hopefully not, though
So in effect, yes, its meaningless outside of some narrowly scoped things (marriage certificates, maybe pensions)
There is a clause underneath it that modified the act, and in effect says that the clause you quoted does not actually apply βfor all purposesβ, that it can be overriden by other legislation (in this case, the SC judgement on the EA).
It will be funny if, like a SVB redux, its triggered by nothing in particular but a panicked tweet from Andreessen or some other ghoul
CHOTINER: And you didnβt know this person - what did you call him again?
CELEBRIMBOR GREATEST OF THE ELVEN SMITHS: Right, his name was Annatar but
CHOTINER: And you taught him to create a ring harnessing all his malice and cruelty?
CELEBRIMBOR: Well I mean I was deceived
CHOTINER: So youβve said
I'm ready to start selling my homebrew mead down at Markthalle Neun.
It might not be? 'Gender reassignment' is also a protected characteristic, so I think you could limit inclusion based on sex and gender reassignment. What 'gender reassignment' even means now, in the context of the EA and the SC decision, I havnt the foggiest
I know complaining about this site is a bit passe but the replies to this exceptionally normal post are pretty Distilled Bsky bsky.app/profile/nyti...
Oh, aye, thatβll do it. I feel Puck is a great role for That Sort Of Thing
Same, the secondary school trip to see Twelfth Night is what did it
Turns out hand corking is a real pain in the arse.
Yeah. And if i wanted to be unfair (i do) a cultural obsession to be The Next Berlin probably actually prevents you from becoming it
I didnt add any sulfites to clarify, just gravity and time, and am super happy with how clear they both are
These have been aging for a while, so I tried them! The supermarket honey one came out a little bland, but the sunflower honey one is really nice. Time to get bottles and a corking machineβ¦
i heard this a lot about leipzig when we were in leipzig and i, uh, failed to see it. for sure the cheapness of it led to similar squats and artists spaces but the thing that coagulates it all together and gives it momentum like berlin had wasnt there
π
Exponentially, yes
Mostly by not buying Aldi iced coffees
Always fun when a cloud provider breaks and the bits of abstraction the services you use get peeled back a little. Turns out discord images probably use GCP!
Leads to weird situation if you transition in EU. You can update your UK passport from the EU without a gender recognition process, and then update your docs in the EU host country as if you did have gender recognition, but then its v hard to get a GRC because none of your doctors are UK based
However, the doctors reports needed for a Gender Recognition Certificate must be UK based and registered. And EU countries tend to assume that the gender recognition comes *before* updating a passport, whereas in the UK its the other way around
The differences in how updating gender markers in passports from the UK, getting UK Gender Recognition Certificates and how the EU treats passports leads to some weirdness. UK Passport marker update need a letter from a doctor, but non-UK doctors are fine (as long as they can be contacted).
It can exacerbate it - drops in T and elevating E can cause skin to be dryer
