Text from Eslam on Monday at 11:28pm: Hi my dear friend, I’m so sorry to reach out like this, but I’m desperate and don’t know where else to turn. My sister’s condition has worsened — the stress of caring for her two young children has overwhelmed her, and I’m also taking care of them. Today, her neck and back locked up, she couldn’t breathe, and we had to call an ambulance. She’s been in the hospital for two days now, and the medical costs are extremely high. I don’t know whom to focus on — should I care for my sister and her children here, for my family in Gaza, or for myself? I’m carrying all of their responsibilities, and it’s becoming impossible alone. If you can help even a little, it would mean the world. Please, I beg you, stand with me if you’re able.
