Umm, I got a bit carried away building new stuff for Twine. Here is one more new feature, themes in the reader screen.

App now offers 7 themes for the reader screen

- Dynamic (match hero image palette)
- Sepia
- Solarized
- Parchment
- Midnight
- Forest
- Slate

Not sure which feeds to follow? Twine now has a discovery section you can browse to get started.

It will be shown during onboarding, when adding a feed, and in the main navigation if you just want to browse what's available.

New Twine update v2.11.0 rolling out now to Android & iOS ✨

Made some UI changes to improve user experience, and bunch of new features and customisations, along with bunch of bug fixes.

If you haven't already, give it a try!

And I am not open-sourcing the project or publishing to Google Play, it's just more work I have to do.

It's a personal project that's just build around our needs.

It had no trouble adding @Firebase Firestore integration, end-to-end encryption, multi-user support, alarms, timers in notifications, and working with Material 3 components.

For now it's a basic setup with @jetbrains Junie CLI and @AndroidStudio

It's amazing how much AI agents for Android dev has improved.

Used Junie and Gemini 3 to build an app I need, and it build the entire app in few hours and required minimal amount of manual changes. Used @stitchbygoogle to generate initial designs to iterate on.

Should I ship some new colorful icons for Twine? 👀

- Compact bottom bar
- New filter and sort options sheet
- Navigation drawer for switching screens
- Navigation rail for foldable and tablet layouts.
- Local new articles notifications
- Download full article on sync
