If there will be a more diverse range of specialists covering a similar headcount as coding becomes more accessible, specialists in communication will also be part of it.
If the industry will transition to fewer engineers doing analogous work, fewer people will also be needed to facilitate communication.
As an organizational role, I would expect to change to the extent to which the software engineering practice will change.

That’s not even an abstraction. That’s just pure indirection: everything leaks, but you still have to take one extra step to get there. What I appreciate about LLMs is that they won’t argue with you about it.

I’ve heard the term “Red Queen’s Race” for this kind of phenomenon, where competition over a valuable, restricted resource causes unrestricted amounts of other resources to be burned. Explains rising property prices (land), the success of the ads business (attention), among others.
I wonder whether we already know how LLM-based app output will look in the 2040s. If that’s the case, I’m glad we are setting the precedent of paying for a service (although the issue of paying for original, human-made content still exists).

Reminds me on how much care needs to go into making sure that communication channels are such that neither the sender nor the receiver have to carry the bulk of the effort so that the message is understood.
