So I just found and started using the Kagi search engine and I am very happy. I finally can find the stuff I am looking for again. Google and Bing really arenβt showing you accurate results and in a lot of cases they actually seem to intentionally mislead you.
"If you're a journalist, researcher, or anyone who reads a lot and hates being profiled for it, Kagi belongs in your stack."

Temporarily breaking my self-imposed exile to say: holy shit kagi is good and you should definitely use it.
That's all. Back to my exile.

If you're sick of ads and useless results from the googly empire, give @kagi.com a whirl. In addition to useful results and tons of personalization options, it has a community-driven feature (SlopStop) to report Ai slop. I've been a user for a couple years and would never go back to the old place.
I'm a long-time Kagi user, but clearly don't check their docs often enough... Because I miss cool new features like SlopStop!

This, paired with the option to exclude AI images, really makes a difference in the world of enslopification.
This shit used to happen to me all the time, but then I deleted all my social media accounts (except for Bluesky) and only use Kagi for web searches, and it stopped

Iβve been building two new extensions that work with @kagi.com.
Jumpbar adds quick actions to the Kagi homepage, so your favorite tools arenβt an extra click away in the control center.
Sidebrief brings Universal Summarizer to your browserβs native sidebar. Zero tab switching.

English: AI cannot be trusted McKinsey consultant: There are significant structural headwinds regarding the reliability and risk-mitigation frameworks of current AI deployments, necessitating a more robust due diligence process to address the underlying trust deficit.
And @kagi.com just built the perfect tool for it in their Translate app:

Google search has fallen so far.
Searching for any sort of visa information on Google: an entire page of SEO junk from websites trying to sell visa middle-man services.
Searching on Kagi: top result is the official Government website.
Alright, @kagi.com, I'm hooked. I've been trying it out for a while, and now I don't even want to think about going back to something else. One of the easiest subscriptions to agree to. So much time saved not looking at garbage that isn't what I was searching for.
I've been using @kagi.com for about 6 months now. I never thought I would be happy to pay for search, but here we are. Google, Bing and even Duck Duck Go have become unusable. Now I have a search where I am the customer, not the product being served to advertisers. No AI push either.
a kagi settings page for "SlopStop" which downranks AI slop in search results
you made me go looking and find out about a feature I didn't even know I was already enjoying lol
my kagi subscription remains undefeated as the best money I spend on an online service.

Why to use Kagi Search in one image:
This coalition is very cool. @kagi.com has already led me to both Windscribe and Fastmail. Divesting from Google search and email has felt great as does no longer paying for the advertising budget of NordVPN.

The truth about "free" search and why it's a trap:
www.youtube.com/shorts/IrGeg...
No, we do not use AI for search results. "Quick Answer" is the AI feature which is only available if manually triggered, and if you switch it off entirely, then that turns off AI from Kagi Search.
Pinterest remains #1 most blocked URL in Kagi: kagi.com/stats?stat=i...
This should be resolved by now if you'd like to give it another try!
