Picture of the cover of Hannah Ritchie's new book, "Clearing The Air".
I can't recommend this book highly enough for anybody interested in understanding #climatechange and what we need to do moving forward.
Incredible work by @hannahritchie.bsky.social that paints a clear picture of how to move forward, and what misinformation to ignore.

Something to be aware of here in Canada — our new PM is in lockstep with the Trumpian authoritarian playbook. This is not okay.

Meme of a guy in a blue sweater holding a cup of coffee, sitting at a desk in a park at a table with a sign that says "Wet Leg is the new No Doubt — Change My Mind.
Seriously, go check them out. ♥

A torn out note page covered in pen doodles, including: various plants and fruits, stationary objects like pencils and envelopes, a six-sided die, a bottle of gin, coffee, a candle, and a number of video game references to The Legend of Zelda (shield, boomerang, bomb, fairy in a bottle, sword, tome, bow & arrow). At the bottom, a chess board sits next to a tombstone with the engraving " R.I.P. Papa Bear ❤️ "
Last month, my father died.
Growing up with him we played video games and chess, listened to music, and watched countless movies and TV shows. He had a knack for finding diamonds in the rough when it came to media, and I'm grateful for (that part of) his influence on my life.
R.I.P. Papa Bear ❤️

Pen drawings of a full mug of coffee, am empty bottle of gin, a pair of sparkly sunglasses, a classic "magic eightball", and a copy of the book "The Light Eaters" by Zoë Schlanger. The drawings are in a small notebook, set on a wooden counter at a busy cafe.

Thanks, @salty-olives.bsky.social , I hate it. 🥲
But seriously, we need more lawns and green spaces turned into wildflower meadows, and other naturalist gardening tropes.
The more we can do to support pollinators from our homes and within our cities, the better off we'll 'bee'. ✨

I'd go with number 3 — high black/white contrast, then colour focusing on the important bits (the floof ❤️)

The cover of the book Arboreality by Rebecca Campbell of whereishere.ca . The art depicts a leather bound book cover, peeling away to reveal dripping sap and a naturalist-style series of illustrations of plant anatomy.
#Arboreality by Rebecca Campbell of whereishere.ca has softly changed my life.
I've spent >10 years learning about climate change, regenerative land management, and what awaits civilization as we know it, and this book helped me feel seen.
Wildly depressing, but I can't recommend it enough. ❤️

Photo taken from ground level of a West Coast forest in the spring. Trees draped in moss, fallen branches and woody debris on the ground, and hundreds of new maple sprouts poking up through the mulch layer take up most of the view. In the distance, new Big Leaf Maple leaves are visible in the sunlight.
Wandering through the West Coast woods, and finding inspiration everywhere. ❤️

Happy belated Earth Day, everyone.
This is Loudon Park in #Nanaimo BC, and we're encouraging the @cityofnanaimo.bsky.social reconsider their plan to cut down these beautiful ~80 year old fir trees.
Peaceful protest video found here:

It says something that, for just a moment (before seeing the Onion tag), this seemed completely legitimate given the state of things.

A roughly 2m high pile of English Ivy, English Holly, and Daphne pulled at the entrance to the dog loop at Colliery dam.
A second pile, also roughly 2m tall, of pruned Holly branches and logs heaped and ready for pickup.
Thanks so much to everyone who came out for the invasive species cleanup this past Saturday!
We got two massive piles of Ivy, Daphne, and an entire Holly tree off the land, making more room for the native understory to establish and thrive. ✨
