> As of today, all mentions of Liquid Glass have disappeared from developer.apple.com (the main home page). This may or may not mean anything... but I've been watching for it.

#Apple #LiquidGlass
Pretty difficult to refute a single thing in this perfect assessment of where the f**k we are, from @iandunt.bsky.social:
"someone" π
That app needs another name, I think. I like the stupid half-assed pun "Post your listens" β Listening Post, but I guess I'm the only person.
π Listening Post: Beta 7 of my always-on #macOS music recognizer & scrobbler is out!
Today: support for #Bluesky and #Spotify (bare-bones: their decision, not mine), and QoL improvements!

I promise you it's actually okay and good to say " I made choices I would not make again because now I understand things differently."
It's a sign of continued political education and a growing commitment and consciousness.
> buy piano
> place piano next to computer
> every time someone is wrong on the Internet, play piano instead of correcting them
> you can now play the piano
the cast of Star Trek Voyager in street clothes awkwardly posing with late-90s computer hardware and consumer electronics
this is what it feels like to post on bluesky
I mean, it *is* a big product
I have no natural defenses against this specific memetic payload
Yes, that, too
Also, the homemade German murder shows are less "OMG TERRORISM CHILD MURDER DRUG TRAFFICKING" than their US counterparts.
So do we here in Germany! I also guess it has something to do w/ the locales of those shows. All the US crime shows probably feels more "on my own doorstep" if you live in Baltimore or Vegas than if you live in Berlin (DE) or Vyborg (DK).
I probably would, too! My theory doesn't explain everything, it's just something I noticed about my own mood, and I can't imagine it helps society as a whole to consume this crap, either.
Personal pet theory: The less "cops are saving the day" TV you consume, the more open you're towards your fellow citizens. Human brains aren't made for filtering out passively consumed TV murder shows from actual reality. So if you watch all the fictional crimes all the time, you do feel at risk.
Shout-out to two of the most-used "business" apps for this #indieDev:
- Receipts for easy bookkeeping (receipts-app.com, also on #Setapp!)
- Subtotal for easy invoice writing, compliant w/ EU laws, machine-readability and all (timopartl.com/en#subtotal)
Solid tools all around, recommended.
For later reference
Another (small) milestone reached. This is running on an early version of Chatto Cloud, opening later this year. More news soon. Stay tuned, and do drop by and say hi :)
What's that, #Spotlight? The app whose window is definitely open right now is not installed on this Mac? Okay then

you can hate AI and want nothing to do with it, but denying its accessibility applications is just denying reality
Oh yes, that's the stuff. Those tags, tho
Fucking Hegseth and his fucking CoD:Ghosts fan fiction bullshit
These assholes wouldn't be as gung-ho if they themselves had to be there
I think more democratic governments should tell Trump to just fuck off instead of trying to be nice to him to avoid making him angry

npmx is now in alpha: this is our story, as told by our team and friends
Slept on it. Time to regroup.
I'll cut down #Spotify support in #ListeningPost to track menu entries so you can open a track or copy its link, but that's it. Unless I find a way to script their goddamn desktop client, I can't implement Like/Unlike and Add to Playlist functions. Better than nothing!
