When Cedi decided to make the pass to Hartel, it was hit with too much pace, pushing Marcel out wide for a shot from a bad angle rather than hitting him in-stride. A wasted chance for a CITY side that desperately needs to start converting these types of chances.
Seattle's Jackson Ragen did a nice job of showing to the middle just slightly while staying in the passing lane to Becher, limiting Teuchert's passing option there.
While Cedi will never be known for his footspeed, it was sufficient here to create a 3 on 2 chance for CITY. Teuchert had 3 options - lay the ball off to Becher on his right, try to hit Hartel in stride on his left, or continue his dribble down the middle and shoot.
As many have stated, Cedric Teuchert had his best performance for CITY in quite some time, creating several opportunities that unfortunately didn't lead to a goal. On this chance early in the 1st half Saturday, a very nice ball from Edelman set Teuchert up on the break.

It was, unfortunately, not the best decision made worse by bad execution on the pass.
What Wallem chose wasn't a terrible idea, but Orozco's momentum was carrying him towards the endline and away from where the ball was played. That, coupled with the absolute wrong pace on the pass from Wallem, led to the turnover and eventual goal for Kossa-Rienzi.
2. Play a ball into space towards the center and hope that Chris Durkin could get to it to clear; 3. Play the ball out of bounds. Obviously in hindsight #3 was the safest route, and #2 most likely the riskiest.
Unfortunately, at the time he got to the ball, he had no available outlet player up the field that was visible to him, leaving him 3 options: 1. Play a direct ball back to Orozco, who had drifted just slightly too deep and was over Wallem's shoulder out of view;
Let's take a look at the only goal of the match last night, created off of the Wallem turnover at the start of the second half. After Rusnák's entry pass was touched into the corner towards Ferreira, Wallem did do a fine job to pursue and win back possession.
