Oh damn, a chance to appreciate @writnelson.bsky.social putting himself into his music, something that really resonated with me when I played El Paso, Elsewhere.
So much so that I asked him and @rj.dcellgames.com to make a song for Wax Heads and they... did?
and um, it's really, REALLY GOOD! ๐๐๐๐
somehow, LAKE SAVAGE returned
Hell yes
not brutal enough

sweetwater is consistently acting like if they don't win a war for "most customer service of anyone" their family will be put to death. to the point that it's Annoying
they won't stop calling to ask if the stuff you bought is ok and what you wanted and if it's confusing or you need help with it.

and they bandaid that bandaid, but the bandaid they use is itself also needing another bandaid. it's bandaids all the way down
yeah ofc! it's just always been like "what the fuck" and sometimes that's a result of trying to AVOID a logic gap; like, the entire reason the RCPD station is a repurposed art museum is to try to justify the weird puzzles being there as being some vestige of that, but why USE that location?
i think once you start untangling the web of "how does the logic of this world work" in any one given resi game it starts to make you crazy. unlike metroid, where there's a severe, hard effort to make all the bits in and out of what you do in the game make sense together resi's just always like this
you can simultaneously play resident evil for the story and the opposite of that. like, you can be a lore nerd for it while recognizing that the whole thing is a nonsense house of cards, and still enjoy both sides of that. this is why resident evil is the same as star wa

it is even if it's basically also just a monster bad apple, and that is because monster bad apple is good as hell

and it's good!
oh hey!
intriguingly not actually an answer to the question
if barton fink wasn't horror i don't know what else you call it. i know the coens rejected comparisons to the shining because they consider the shining more of a horror movie but barton fink is a scarier film
Fantastic Mr. Fox is a beautiful example of a very particular subtype super common in heist and crime movies: the same impulse that got them into this mess is why they can get out of it
this goes for demos too unless your demo is a whole bespoke fun side game (valid thing to do)
i'd expect 6 before 5. frankly i'd expect them to do a combined 5/6 soft retcon game. they'd call it something like resident evil: the wesker files
DC2 is important because it's the One Made By The Guy Who Went On To Do Ace Attorney, and you can tell if you look at it from that angle
