I had similar interactions when looking for spaces to organise game dev meets. Some of them said they were open for cultural events but when I mentioned video games would answer back that it was really JUST for culture.
It's lack of knowledge/misconception/prejudice mixed with gatekeeping.
I entered a random art museum yesterday.
It's free admission and the concept is to give a space for artists to take risks without thinking about profit.
I mention that me and some friends produce interactive installations, playful media, etc.
Answer: "oh, we are really just focused on art"

It's worse than any of those options. As with any "AI" all it does is digest input (both what the player presses, the last few frames and maybe some world building prompts) and output something. It doesn't fully understand context, there are no real mechanics, any persistency or anything like that.
