Last night’s snow drips from the trees. Birdsong brings life back to the forest.

Partly it’s because I’m excited for my Sword & Sorcery project. Partly it’s because I don’t want to publish two books in a row that have “Time” in the title.

I still plan to finish TLR this spring. But maybe I’ll let it percolate with alpha readers for a bit before I try to revise and publish it. My next book might be a Sword & Sorcery novella instead, if I can manage a solid 25k words (and cover art) by summer.

Setting up a broadcast TV antenna for the first time since before the switch to digital (2009). I’m learning that digital broadcast TV is garbage. Instead of static, which is merely annoying, you get pixelation, which is unwatchable. Also, daytime TV is a nightmare landscape of the conservative id.

I did one week of writing, then two weeks of no writing at all. Trying to make this week a writing week. Squeezed out about 200 words so far this morning.

I don’t even have THAT MUCH to write to finish this first draft. Maybe 4 or 5 1993 chapters, maybe 3 or 4 present day chapters.
