Federal Safety Net Cuts Are Hurting States. A ‘Bad Business Fee’ Could Help. - OtherWords By taxing companies that pay poverty wages, state and local governments can help cover federal cuts to the safety net programs low-wage workers rely on.

Despite benefiting from Trump’s tax cuts, many wealthy corporations continue to pay their workers poverty wages, writes @jwj.org ’s Adam Shah.

Fortunately, local governments have a way to hold those corporations accountable — Bad Business Fees.

Noem's ICE has violated over 200 court orders in the last two months.

This lack of compliance is unprecedented and dangerous.

The courts are forcing DHS to comply because Noem thinks she only has to follow the rulings "when they apply."

Noem is not above the law.
