I am baffled. They're pretending to be Brit. They read a tweet about Platty Joobs and someone chatgpt'd a graph going up.

There's a whimsical tale on the back about how this was a family joke between an elderly aunt and a child, entirely made up in a boardroom by suits.
Is this British? If it's British we are so over this shit, anyone who comes out sounding like an Innocent smoothie crossed with Brewdog is viewed with instant suspicion. Shunned like the 'holibobs' tribe.
If it's American... Enjoy the next 5 years of baby-talking foodstuffs wanting to be fwends.
And do your part by refraining from "smell-this activism."
"Did you see this awful thing this awful man said? Here, look. Isn't it awful? Isn't he awful?"
...Why are you doing that?
Why are you the free street team for the worst people online? Why are you signal-boosting misery?
Don't do that.
(they could also be completely bonkers, though, I mean I have a Dutch flag with a mulleted waif on the wall here.)
My daughter and her friends are into Käärijä, Joost Klein and Tommy Cash. Seems that fun and silliness helps!
I've been asking my daughter to consider writing a post of some kind about the 'AI reading app' she's forced to use. It frequently claims she reads its gibberish too quickly, and locks her out.
However, she's found this triggers email notifications to teachers. Her record's around 217 emails...
It should be like our National Service. Force everyone to do a year of night shifts at the local Tesco Express.
I got the job because two staff members had just quit after being robbed at gunpoint.
Which one? Now I wanna block it
I'm reminded of the behind-the-scenes video clip from the Disney team after they sketched out Flynn Ryder - then got the women of the studio in to iterate on him. The final design was the result of that, not the neckless muscle-head the original designs seemed to show they were going for.

A really good piece here from Danielle Turton on recreation of historical accents and why the choices of accents and features matter, especially when they're 'regional' rather than RP.
Thanks! I hopped on board at the book announcement but had missed the initial event - and damn, how great that this now exists in shiny bound response to it :)
Damn, what happened?
A lot of British folklore can be traced to about five Victorian enthusiasts who liked claiming fiction as fact and are now the single sources of some bold claim.
Filled out a form this weekend with a dialog that would clear and close when you hit the space bar. Had to paste text in. Crashed out 2-3 times and needed re-doing. Info dialogs were transparent and unreadable.
Feels like I could side-hustle into fixing very bad forms...
oo a Friends gag, mate I'd rather see a pic of a fish
Ordered mine. A fascinating area that I'm blessed to work adjacent to, and looking forward to diving into the heart of it.
As a teen I wanted to "write stories, but like, for games?" and was kindly told that didn't exist. It does now, and I find the blend of tech, player and story simply magical.
I've developed a fondness for coworking spaces. Just having people around, a hum of chatter, nice surroundings.
Sure there's a bunch of Reddit posts that would scorn it, but I feel more relaxed afterwards. We're not designed to sit alone in silence as much as a remote worker can end up doing.
"I mean the sexy fox."
I have a soft-spot for this aesthetic, and the flannel shirt collection to match, but having been oiling my beard and staring out to sea by the lighthouse since 2010 I agree it's become a bit of a cosy shorthand.
Aye but up here that just means you have to still manage four of them, lined up like a bloomin' barricade.
The amount of events and festivals around the country using genAI for their promotional images is slightly maddening. All about supporting local, except their local artists.
This is what I like my skincare labels to read like
And, blocked
If I bought train tickets on the day I'd have to remortgage the house.
I don't have anything dramatically insightful to say about the current events, but I'm going to just start blocking people who post nausea-inducing AI images depicting child murder like a cheap greeting card.
Do better.
I would say one of the main right-wing projects of the past twenty years has been gaming every web 2.0 platform into thinking the right-wing is much bigger and more influential than it actually is. And the people who have been most taken in by this effort has been the right wing
Excited to see how this becomes “we must become more racist and do less to help people” in the minds of the brain geniuses over at Labour HQ.
Onfim’s drawing of himself on horseback as a warrior defeating an enemy.
Two of Onfim’s works. On the left is a copy of a passage from the Book of Psalms he did for schoolwork. On the right is an apparently autobiographical depiction of a monster labeled with “I am a wild beast.”
Some more spelling practice by Onfim with some human figures who have round heads and varying numbers of fingers on their big hands.
Onfim’s writing practice accompanied by 7 little people in his particular drawing style, who tend to have very big hands with many fingers.
Nice AI-image-generating tool, but it will never be as great an artist as Onfim, a child who lived in the Novgorod Republic in the mid-1200s and who scribbled these drawings and schoolwork writings on birch bark at the age of 6 or 7.
another bright and beautiful day on normal island
