Yes. The cook county board can change the level of assessed value of a property that is subject to tax.
Currently it’s 10% for vacant land.
IOW, a vacant lot is valued at $100,000. The tax is applied on 10% of that.
@drakewarren.bsky.social is running to be a full time Cook County Commissioner. We need real progressives who actually treat their positions of public trust seriously. He is running against someone who clearly doesn't do that and doesn't show up 23% of the time.
