We exist in a meme stock economy in case some of you havenβt realized that yet.
Oh great, venture capitalists famously improve things.

Metro Sport CHURCH ANSWERS DONS' PRAYERS
Ten years ago today the Metro published this headline the day after I tweeted that tweet.
It cannot be emphasised enough the extent to which UK politicians need to get off twitter.
I actually think that was largely the right call, in an odd sort of way.
Even the people that do remember it donβt really remember it after all the 60p vodka cokes.
(That wasnβt meant to sound snarky, that first day looks brilliant.)
My time machine works!
After you, Brian.
Pal I know youβre trying to help but if you donβt know a/ what the hielanmanβs umbrella is and b/ that the fire took place at the Gordon St/Union St junction, not the four corners, maybe youβre not that well-placed to address this.
This morning I am really struggling to get over a sort of malaise that is entirely a consequence of sadness that important parts of my city keep going on fire.

Itβs a dreich morning in Glasgow but even then there is very visibly a sort of additional haar of smoke over the centre.
You could smell the smoke in our close this morning, never mind by the time you got out on the street.
CCA closing, everyone getting kicked out Tramway, M8 repairs an absolute mess, god knows whatβs going on with the art school, the ABC site justβ¦ sitting there, and now Central being in whatever state it turns out to be in. Even as a Glasgow fundamentalist itβs hard to be optimistic about the city.
Fucking hell.
This is fucking devastating. We canβt lose Central, of all things. Why does this seem to happen to us more than anywhere else?
Not sure if itβs totally clear yet but yeah itβs the Union St side of Central.
Could Glasgow just not go on fire for a bit.
Dunno who calls their lineouts but leadership seems like a problem.
Just watched the highlights from yesterday again, because of course, but of the many mystifying things England did yesterday, why on earth did they not compete at the Italian lineout as the clock was going red? Italy took it unchallenged and kicked it straight out to end the game. Utterly bizarre.
ffs Iβm never listening to you again. This is not a good use of my time (he says as he agonises over a choice between investing in a rural highway and a new freight trainline in a wholly fictional nation and scenario).
The Ballyclare Gazette. The headline for the splash is βfour men cleared over Gowdy attackβ and then separately the main pic is four wee boys dressed up as a gruffalo, Mario, etc for book day.
One of the great front pages was published fourteen years ago today.
Hope this fire at Central isnβt too grim. Itβs smoky on our walk over a mile away.
A pretty normal looking statue on a plinth near the McLennan arch at Glasgow Green.
A close up of the plaque on said plinth: ERECTED BY TEMPERANCE REFORMERS IN RECOGNITION OF VALUABLE SERVICES RENDERED TO THE TEMPERANCE CAUSE BY SIR WILLIAM COLLINS LORD PROVOST OF THE CITY OF GLASGOW 1877-80 23 OCTOBER 1881
I donβt mean to stereotype us but how did this guy get a statue in Glasgow
I see Scotlandβs Shame 1 and Scotlandβs Shame 2 have embarrassed themselves again.
Ditto βEnglandβs kicking game is brilliant, theyβre so good in the air!β becoming βThey are so predictable, why do they kick all the time?β
Very funny watching the same pundits who confidently predicted an English grand slam now call for Borthwickβs head.
The Gulf states & Israel depend on water desalination to live. If Israel & US break the taboo of bombing vulnerable desal infrastructure, they risk catastrophic harm.
Percent of drinking water from desal:
Israel: 80%
Kuwait: 90%
Saudi Arabia: 70%
Oman: 86%
UAW: 42%
