I can't advocate for dumping toxic waste in the harbor.
That is the exact face!
Accumulation of dirt.

I'm curious who currently owns this property.

Dark, dirty, graffitied, and empty.

At least the freight trains are still in use.

Barbed wire helps ensure no one is seeking shelter in unused properties.

It bothers me that all of this land is sitting unused. No one is allowed to occupy this land, and the owners refuse to fix it up. After a while, it will be seized by the government, still left abandoned and unused.

Personally, I love graffiti. I think cities should be covered in art. Public spaces should be filled with murals and graffiti that reflect the culture. It is art, and it shouldn't just be reserved for places left abandoned and neglected.

As time goes by, graffiti appears. It serves as a time marker to show how long the building has been neglected. No one cares, no one will clean it, cleaning it isn't profitable.

It has bothered me for a long time how many abandoned buildings there are in this country. Some of them are in good enough condition to be cleaned up and re-opened, but no one will take on those endeavors.

Freight trains in the late afternoon, graffiti, and the grittier side of Dallas.

A grackle in a tree in the evening.

A place of train tracks. The two tracks closest are for passenger trains, the rest are for freight trains.

We sat down next to this moth on the train. It was still there after we got off. It must have been going to the end of the line.

Bird on a streetlight in the afternoon.

Same. "Oh, dang. did he die? Wait, wasn't he already dead?" The tags on here are so weird sometimes.
Another taste of the gritty direction my art is taking. Although, this is still on the nicer side.

Early signs of spring.

Soft clouds and silhouettes of trees in the glow of the late afternoon light.

The one crow that screams at me was back, and screaming at me.

This tiny rain cloud was all by it's self. It was grey with water, but it dissipated quickly. Very strange, adorable, and kind of funny. It was too good not to photograph.

Thank you!
This shot is a visual representation of the shifting of my art. For a while, I've been focused on finding the beautiful things in urban settings. But that is changing now. Two worlds exist intertwined. One of them is invisible unless you are looking for it.

I first saw the broken lamppost and loved it. I had to cross the street and then turn back to get a good shot of it. But when I did, I was greeted with a beautiful glow on an old building. A great shot, altogether.

This radio tower is so cool. It's so rare to see them anymore.

City lights at night.
#photography #urbanphotography #dallas
Shortly before sunset, the light gets more and more yellow, and there was smoke in the air from the diesel trucks. Rental scooters all over the sidewalk, people just going about their lives, but all of it cast in a magical glow.
