the best way to eat a circular food is to rotate it very fast and take little bites until it disappears. hamsters are right about this

sylvain redesign! he's drawn with curlier hair, freckles, and a silly little beard covering his chin, untidy scruff covering the rest of his jaw. his hair is long enough in the back to pull into a ponytail, which is tied with a teal ribbon, and he has a single dangly earring. he's wearing a mantle similar to felix's, in gautier teal, with the collar resembling the thing he wears around his waist in canon. it's fully lined in white fur, and has loops of red braid and red tassels at the neck. one side is tossed over his shoulder to free his sword arm. under the mantle he wears a sleeveless darker green jerkin with white trim, open to the waist to show off the fancy trim of his brown doublet. the doublet has huge slashed sleeves, showing off his pale green-blue undershirt, and dark blue and green oak-leaf trim at the front and cuffs. it's fastened with lengths of tooled red-dyed leather with gold clasps at either end. the leather matches his belt, which is looped twice around his waist to accommodate for the sword he wears in a dark grey scabbard. he also wears tall dark grey boots that go over his knees, with boot butterflies and silver spurs, and the same red pants he has in canon. off to the right is a close-up of his right arm, held horizontally. it's missing his doublet, so you can very clearly see the stiletto dagger he keeps strapped to his forearm in case of emergencies.

redesign of ingrid, with stronger features, no makeup, and her hair cut rather carelessly in a boy's style. she's wearing what i picture as the uniform of the galatea pegasus co.; a short, dark green hooded mantle lined with brown fur, with the symbol of the battalion stitched in silver on the left breast - the crest of daphnel, with two wings arching up over it. under the mantle is a short jerkin and in split-sided doublet, both in shades of pale green and trimmed with darker green and silver. loose cream jodhpurs are tucked into blue-dyed leather boots with golden brown detailing and spurs, matching the gloves she's wearing, and a sword at her belt. ingrid has added green boot-bows.

ashe redesign! he wears a a bycocket hat with two brown feathers, and a short hooded cape in dark blue-purple with grey-blue dagged trim, fastened with a brooch shaped like a pair of oak leaves. his doublet is blue, with desaturated purple trim what matches the tops of his boots. his pants, fur-lined gloves, and scabbard are all brown; the belt that holds his sword and the body of his boots are dyed the same colour as his cape.

annette redesign! she's dressed in shades of blue and orange and silver. she has a blue variation of a french hood covering all but her bangs, with a veil that falls just past her shoulders, and a triple-looped string of blue and pearl beads around her neck, with a crest of dominic pendant at her throat. her chemise is embroidered with silver at the throat, and is visible at the neck of her dress and poking out of her sleeves. most of her dress is dark orange - the full sleeves, part of the bodice, and the overskirt - trimmed with silver embroidery. the trim at her square neckline and gathering her sleeves at the bicep and wrist is made of blue ribbon with silver, and but the edges of the overskirt are just embroidered. the front panel of the bodice and the underskirt are both a soft peachy colour; the bodice has the crest of dominic embroidered on it in blue, and the underskirt parts to reveal white linen underneath. she also has a fancy silver and blue girdle, which also has a crest of dominic pendant in fancy blues and silvers at the bottom.

second half of the blue lions!!! i didn't get to landsknecht anyone here, but alas.

dimitri's at-home redesign. he has a plain silver circlet on, as well as his eyepatch, and he is all scarred up and rather scruffy, with hollow cheeks and bags under his eyes. the full-body drawing shows off the big black mantle, trimmed with white and black fur and fastened with silver medallions and loops of blue braid at the chest. the medallion over his heart is inlaid with the crest of blaiddyd in blue, but the other is plain. under the mantle is a grey-blue jacket with pale blue showing beneath its decorative slashes, a bright blue yoke, and silver trim and detailing. he has a large fleur de lis-style clasp at his collarbone, and smaller ones adorn the turned-down points of his collar. he has a blue belt with silver looped twice around his waist and tied in a fancy knot. under the jacket he's wearing a long white shirt that peeks out at the hem and collar. he has dark blue pants and black boots. the detail shots show the jacket under the mantle, and his gloved hand wearing the blaiddyd signet ring, which is a wide silver band set with a large sapphire engraved with the crest of blaiddyd.

dedue redesign. he has tightly curled hair pulled back into a ponytail, shaved close on the sides and back, and five braids adorned with golden clasps feed into the ponytail. he has closely groomed stubble as he does in three hopes, and the scars from three houses. he wears a dark blue-green scarf and cross-body sash with bold red-orange and gold prints, which are echoed in his close-cut cuffs. the sash is knotted at his waist, over a band of gold fabric and length of red braid serving as a belt. the duscur winged clasp and tassel at his shoulder pins three loops of red braid in place as well. he has a long black vest with blue and red trim, fastened with gold clasps and blue ribbon ties, and lined with fur. underneath that is a shirt in dark grey-blue, with closely cut and buttoned cuffs and fancy diagonal ribbons sewn on at the shoulders. he has wide-legged black pants, tied close at the shins with interwoven blue ribbon, and black boots trimmed with red and red tassels.

redesign of felix. he's leaner and more scarred than in canon. he's wearing a fur-trimmed teal mantle lined with dark blue thrown over his shoulders and fastened with silver pins and cord, one side tossed back to free his right arm. under that is a teal doublet with decorative lighter blue trimming meant to evoke the crest of fraldarius, fastened up the front with leather and silver clasps. his doublet is pale, pale blue, with dark trim at the neck and large sleeves tucked into his turned-down brown leather gloves. his pants are a greener shade, but they're barely visible between the skirt of his jerkin and the tops of his boots. he has navy gaiters with brown trim over top his boots, like in canon, and a multitude of belts - one across his chest to hold his cape on, and two more around his waist. next to him are his swords and a knife, all sheathed in dark grey-blue leather - one plain arming sword with silver detailing, then the sword of Moralta, which is an executioner's sword with a flat tip and a very fancy white and gold hilt, and the crest of fraldarius inlaid on the scabbard in gold. then there's a plain parrying dagger with silver detailing.

mercedes redesign! she is big and beautiful, wearing a long gown of light tan fabric over a white chemise, and a dark brown hood with tan trim and a white veil. the skirt parts to show a darker brown underskirt, with pale trim at the bottom, and the overskirt is trimmed in three-toned brown ribbon with crest of lamine motifs. her sleeves are dark brown, full at the shoulder but cut close at the wrist with tan ribbon and ruffles. the bodice of her dress is laced up with white cord over a white center, trimmed with dark brown, and she has a brown sash with silver trim and fastened with a silver pin around her waist. she has a drawstring bag-style purse hanging from her belt. the contents of the purse are drawn and labeled to the right: keys to the infirmary and apothecary chest, letter from mama (illegible), vulnerary - never leave home without one! - and a spool of thread, a pair of scissors, and two needles - one curved and one straight, labeled "in case of emergencies, medical or sartorial."

the blue lions are next!! can you see the different nations' distinct styles emerging yet?

redesign of claude! two of them, in fact, one "home" and one "battle." he's drawn with shoulder-length hair, extra beard, and a curly little mustache to enhance his smile, and an extra gold hoop in his other ear. his "home" look has him in a halo-brimmed navy hat with gold trim and a white feather, and a navy blue blue jerkin with the collar turned back to reveal the dark green lining over a tan doublet with gold trim, a turned-down yellow collar, and decorative diagonal slashing on the sleeves. his pale yellow shirt is visible through the slashes and in ruffles at his wrists, and at the collar. he has a black belt around his waist that holds his khanjar dagger - in the detail shot on the top right is the dagger itself, which is a curved silver dagger with a gold and black hilt, gold inlay on the blade that reads "Khalid," and a very fancy gold, malachite, and ivory sheath. the home outfit has medium brown puffy quilted pants, yellow boot bows, and navy boots with boot butterflies and golden spurs. his "battle" outfit is much the same as in canon, with the pauldron, gloves, boots, pants, capes, sash, and jacket from canon. i've just added a green and gold sleeveless jerkin with fancy quilting, a gold-trimmed belt with tassels to hold his leicester alliance cape on, and his khanjar.

redesign of hilda. her bangs are lengthened and curled, parted on one side to show off her forehead. behind her bangs are two braids looped around her head, holding a gold and pearl net in place, and then the rest of her hair is in a low ponytail. a section of it is bound with gold and black ribbon and more pearl netting. she's wearing a floor-length gown in shades of pink, yellow, and pinkish-brown. her neckline is rather low, showing off her cleavage, with a pearl and gold net partlet fastened with a crest of goneril brooch. the bodice is trimmed in plain gold ribbon, and she has big puffs at her shoulders and elbows where her white chemise is pulled out, as well as a lot of ruffles at her wrists. her sleeves are tied on by dark pink ribbons, and she has a pink and gold jeweled girdle, as well as a pearl necklace and loops of pearls at her neck. her skirt parts to reveal the pale pink undergown. the skirts are trimmed with yellow ribbon with pink flowers.

lorenz redesign!! he has long hair pulled back into a ponytail with red ribbon, a dangling ruby earring, and a fuck-off enormous cavalier-style hat with two purple feathers and red ribbon. he's wearing a very fancy purple and pale gold jerkin, with fancy slashing on the huge sleeves and gold embroidery of roses on the body. it's fastened with fancy gold worked clasps. he has a big red rose pinned to his left shoulder, where he has a purple cape (shown in the detail drawing to the right) with the crest of gloucester embroidered on it in gold, lined with almost white pale purple. it's held on with loops of pale gold braid. he's also wearing a lavender shirt with dark indigo trim, very tight lavender pants with gold detailing, and huge ruffles at the cuffs of his boots and gloves, both of which are purple. he also has bright red boot bows and gold lace on his boots, and purple boot butterflies and pale gold spurs.

redesign of marianne! she is dressed in shades of blue and gold, with her hair braided up and covered by a pearl net with a gold curlicue headband. she has pearl earrings, and pearl and topaz beads on the puffs of her sleeves and her fancy partlet. her white chemise is done up to her throat, and has a little ruff at the collar. her dress is mostly a darkish blue-grey, with dark blue trim at the neck, sleeve hems and upper sleeves, and around the borders of her overskirt. below the puffs, her sleeves are "funnel-shaped;" narrow at the upper arms and widening until they're very large at the wrist; there's gold trim at her elbow, right before it starts widening. her underskirt and inner sleeves are both pale blue, and there's a band of blue and gold embroidery around the bottom of her skirt, with star-like motifs. she also has a gold girdle, with a star-shaped clasp and two tassels hanging from it.

and finally the golden deer!! fun story i had claude all designed and then i drew lorenz and hilda and said hang on………… claude's not fancy enough now………
