I cannot read physical books 99% of the time unless I am seated directly beneath the sun on a cloudless day. Sometimes I can use a lamp but then we're fighting the AuADHD "This Position is Uncomfortable" goblin.

Say what you want about eBooks but they made reading accessible to me.

Oh, and this also means that I can't function entering normally lit buildings when it's bright outside. I have trouble discerning patterns and shapes in artwork with lots of dark colors. Don't ask me to tell you the difference between two dark colors (navy is black don't @ me).

I am naturally nocturnal and it takes my eyeballs upwards of 3 hours to fully adjust to the dark.

(I can more or less function after being submerged in the dark for about half an hour, but for me to *see*, the mostly-rodless eyes need more cooking time.)
