Thinking about Satsuki Yatoji from X again. I wish I could be so plugged in....
I'm surprised this game never got released. Maybe not for arcades, because it's true it might be too long for an arcade and doesn't have a very arcade-like structure. But for the Saturn or the PS1? Especially since it was practically finished.
Besides, it's beautifully designed.

Uootoy 3671 by Mindware for Steam. The screenshots were taken with a custom shader.
I designed a lot of stages for the game. However, some of them didn't make it into the final product. I tried to make them available through file sharing but gave up due to lack of interest.
The credits for Uootoy 3671. I was one of the level-designers.

From now until the 19th of March, all of Mindware's games are on sale. I have over 250 hours on Uootoy and Heiankyo Alien 3671, so those are the top two I'd recommend.
Alien Field, Cosmic Snake, and Space Mouse 2 are also really neat.

Clever little budget-priced CPRG just left early access with a good launch discount, too.
A weird swampy fantasy setting, semi-real-time combat ala Vagrant Story and a cool claymation-esque art style. Also hugely undersold so far.
