EXCEPT NOT REALLY just another person who sells my labor power for wages Radical Union Guy ("all power to the working class") workerist not leftist "dissecting union struggles, Syrian politics & snake-loving jobs with a sharp, no-nonsense edge"
They had names. They had beautiful faces. And they had the same dreams as your kids - crushed when American "precision" bombs slammed into their Minab elementary school, killing 175
Don't blame AI for this. Blame the sick humans who see war as a game

Americans aren’t facing a democratic collapse. We’re living in its aftermath
The US was an oligarchy well before Trump’s first term. Recognizing this reality is essential to building a true democracy

This is *nothing* dignified about wearing a cheap baseball cap that promotes yourself to the otherwise solemn ceremony to receive the bodies of the troops you had killed to distract from your bad economy and rampant pedophilia.

if I lived in Maine I'd vote for her!
We’re are out hitting the ground to get signatures; I’m trying to answer all your great questions, but my responses won’t be as timely as I would like. In lieu of that, please visit my website for more info and enjoy this photo of me when I woke up this morning. Shirt by: @foreveryone.bsky.social

The big-city socialists who want developers to cash in
Zohran Mamdani and Nithya Raman are pursuing a once unthinkable housing alliance: tenant protections paired with pro-market policies that spur private construction.

ICE has arrested and detained a Nashville journalist who reported stories critical of ICE. She’s married to a U.S. citizen and has been seeking asylum here after fleeing death threats in Colombia because of her journalism there.
They’ve already sent her to Louisiana.

miserable things are afoot in the world, so finding joy is important - my cat was watching Animal Planet just now, & she was delighted to see a Texas Horned Lizard (they're orange... so is she)
love & light in the time of darkness
good night & have a great week
I would assume Lenin and them in Russia & Karl and Rosa & them in Germany had conversations like that with servicemen in their respective armies and from what I understand that kinda worked (well, that plus mustard gas plus military defeat...)
I would assume if one had a chance to talk to a 5th Fleet Aviation Ordnanceman or Aviation Structural Mechanic about the illegality of the bombing raids that the planes they service carry out... it might be a useful conversation starter & lead them to draw the right political conclusions
that is, shoot their car with a 50 caliber anti materiel heavy machine gun, even though you know they're civilian cause it's literally a yellow and white Toyota Camry taxi cab (that's what the taxis look like over there)
well, that kind of illegal stuff makes soldiers anti war
is kind of a disconnect
when you get orders like "if they try and surrender, just open fire because we don't have the resources to handle POWs right now" - or get told if a civilian Iraqi vehicle gets to close to the convoy "light them up with the Ma Deuce"
if you ever have occasion to talk about imperialist wars with folks who were 68Whiskeys or 11Bravos or 31Bravos or 35Papas that fought in them, the disconnect between what they learned in AIT about the Geneva Convention & what their officers told them to do downrange....
it's an interesting article in an abstract way...but we're not the UK, our legal systems are similar but not the same as theirs & also... where's the action plan for us in there?
I guess we shouldn't criticize imperialist wars for being illegal because ...Karl Marx?
so, if it's OK with you & it doesn't make a "parliamentary cretin"(whatever the hell that even is) I'll stick to constitutionally protected peaceful protest - lose my job means I can't make rent & me & my cat are homeless - also no job = no insurance = I die because no more meds
maybe those with parents who are landlords/businessowners etc have luxury of breaking the law (cause their dad can post bail & pay for a $1,000/hr lawyer) - if they got it like that that they can get down like that, awesome for them... but most of us can't get down like that
