I hope to see this addon incorporate some other cheat sheets for gdscript! I'm always having to lookup references for setting collision masks in code, but i think super brief little notes like this could make a lot of syntax things in editor feel that much more accessible.
This is really sweet and feels in line with how so much in Godot is designed to make it accessible to new game devs! The docs in editor are awesome but sometimes overwhelming depending on the object.

vibe for the week
today i learned that if you add a singleton scene that runs as a tool script to your godot project, you can create floating control nodes in the editor... could be useful for making some floating tool buttons but caught me so off guard hahaha #godot
and it takes some practice, but if i just close my eyes and listen to it ...
i can watch each idea float through my head with non-judging patience.
i'm reminded that i don't have to see myself as a machine that needs to be fixed. i can see myself the same as every other part of nature, as something to be discovered, as something to be appreciated, as something to be patient with, as something to accept. and when i see myself in this way, i don't have to worry. i can just watch as each thought floats through my mind, like fish down a stream.
2/2
i realized i've become very impatient with myself lately.
i'm never satisfied to think about just one thing at a time. i'm making to do lists for things i know i won't be able to make the time for, and by the time i actually get to work, i'm cutting every possible corner in the hopes i can make up a couple minutes for the next thing. in some twisted way, i tell myself "i'm making the most of my time".
when i get like this, my ideas are so cloudy. i reach for my next thought like a fish in a puddle and the more impatiently i splash my arm around, the less clearly i can see.
i'm trying to remind myself that behind the conscious, controlling, participating part of my mind is an ocean of subconscious thought that i am often shouting over with my impatience.
some thoughts on patience

oh no, this shader was super rushed for the game jam, but I think between the tutorial and the abzu GDC talk, you could definitely expand on the shader and make it look great! I'd love to commit any improvements to the shader if you'd like to open source your work!
yes!!! i've wanted to contribute to something like this for a minute! would love to see a plat fighter game jam with a simple, extensible open source framework for devs to build off of!
lately i've really enjoyed sitting outside with my pets and trying to breakdown what i see into simple shapes while I'm watching them, then returning to my book later to draw what i saw from memory. it's a lot of fun to draw from the things i can remember without being distracted with details!
wade has worked so hard making these vinyls happen, and i'm so blown away with how they came out!!

I created a tiny Godot tool for instancing and animating MultiMeshinstances along a Path3D.
Megan and I really love playing Abzu and Sword of the Sea, so I wanted to take a stab at creating something that could mimic the look of all those fishies swimming around!
the collision layers setting is so so huge!!! really great work with this one tibo !!

modeling some little guys is very good for the heart and soul
i like how mario kart lets the battle mode be secondary to the racing. i don't want this game to ever feel like a shooter with the abilities you get, so ideally every combat ability will have a movement application! though i might need to add z-targeting so players could actually aim their items
i originally was planning on making this character controller for just a little multiplayer sandbox game, but the mechanics are coming together in what feels like could be a really fun 3d platformer racing game!
jetpack!! very fun and very unwieldy if you're not just trying to zoom straight forward as fast as possible.

i've been modeling lots of little beans and decided i want to make some kind of multiplayer game w them. this is my first time making a character controller with a full node based state machine, and it lends itself super well to networking since i can get away with a lot with jus syncing the state!
