Yep. Pretty much every site I know has been impacted by this to some degree, and it has been absolutely brutal. Google tries to play the data off as flawed in this article, but this is a very commonly understood truth for people who work in online media.

I think the biggest damage to the art community was the obsolescence of gallery sites (y!, deviantart, etc) and the rise of scroll-by social media, like twitter and even tumblr. Art is not ''content'', you shouldnt need to post art every day (or every month!) to be relevant. This mindset sucks.

Alright, I’ll be starting yesterday’s postponed Dark Souls III stream in just a few minutes, just gotta let it finish installing.
It’ll be a little different than my normal recordings for YouTube, but what the heck, try new things.
As it is wont to do, being The Friend With A Truck turned into an all-day affair. SO that means the Dark Souls III stream has been pushed to tomorrow. Schedule says 1-4; I’m going to attempt to do that, and also in the morning as well. New streamer life is wild but we pursue consistency!
That a game is a live service really doesn’t factor in for me. I pretty much just play FFXIV as if it were single-player, and group as necessary. Play Overwatch and periodically get excited about a gacha for a while, and have no trouble spending $0, so they still live and die by how good the game is
