⚡️Overnight Russian attacks on Dnipro and Kharkiv injure at least 20.
Russian overnight attacks on March 10 struck the Ukrainian cities of Dnipro and Kharkiv, leaving at least 20 people injured as emergency crews continue assessing the damage.
I didn’t lose my ability to see beauty.
Moreover, the war taught me to see it everywhere.
Beauty is not a distraction.
It shows how amazing our planet is.
The one we should protect.
It continued:
Reporter: You just suggested that Iran somehow got its hands on a Tomahawk and bombed its own elementary school on the first day of the war.
Why are you the only person saying this?
Trump: Because I just don’t know enough about it.
The bottom line is Trump sacrificed 8 American lives (& counting) and more than 1,000 Iranian lives (& counting) for nothing. He hurt the US & global economies, destabilized the Middle East, & will pull out with the same Iranian regime in power. There's no silver lining.
A senseless, criminal waste
Tories are just negative about everything.
Oppose everything.
Complain about everything.
Pretend they are not responsible for all the failings they caysed from their 14 years in government.
They have short memories & think we do too.
But Communities Secretary put them straight!
I've just finished listening to the final part of the "Book of Dust", "The Rose Field" by Phillip Pullman. It was narrated by Michael Sheen and it concluded with a conversation between Philip and Michael. You should listen - it's wonderful!
🚨 Naomi Smith, Best for Britain CEO:
“As Best for Britain has long argued, ministers must not simply make urgent progress on this common sense food and drink deal, but on extending alignment to all industrial service sectors to get growth kickstarted both here and in the EU.”
Obviously gas prices going up make everything more expensive and that sucks. Causes lots of problems. But it also could theoretically cause people to stop with their horrible giant SUVs they drive
Nature also found that science agencies lost around 20 per cent of their administrative staff last year (and about 25,000 staff and scientists in total). David Ho, a professor in the School of Ocean and Earth Science and Technology at the University of Hawai'i at Mänoa, noted that those staff losses include "programme managers in charge of giving out funds. As a result, even though Congress has appropriated the funding, federal agencies are finding it difficult to distribute it in the most optimal way," he said. Remaining staff have reported struggling to keep up with workloads and Ho also fears that in such circumstances the agencies are likely to favour established scientists rather than junior ones for funding since, without the time to properly scrutinise applications, programme managers are likely to err on the side of caution.
US science budgets have been spared. So why is no one celebrating? Among other things, many of us are worried about how junior scientists (i.e., those who are the future of science) are being affected. 🧪

If you're looking to snipe a cheap used EV before an energy shock brings prices roaring back, I couldn't be more thrilled every time I get into my BMW i3.
The tiny size and short range that got it panned by reviews make it ideal for an around-town EV, and it feels special in ways cars don't anymore
The human body is so adaptable.
For example because I didn't manage to go the gym for 2 weeks - my body smartly adapted to the idea that I would never go back and appears to have atrophied all of my muscles 😓
Two firefighters resting, sitting on the plinth of the "Citizen Firefighter" statue.
Quite an image on the BBC live page (www.bbc.co.uk/news/live/cd...; no photographer credited).
Sounds as if they've saved the station and the hotel, and more importantly, without loss of life.
Citizens; heroes.
A wind turbine will generate 27x more energy than it takes to build.
A solar panel will generate 40x more energy.
Neither use any fuel.
There is already infinite energy generators.
In case the 2022 energy crisis didn't make it absolutely clear to everyone...
Everyone needs to install a ton more renewables (I am OK also building more nuclear power plants, but they take a very long time to build) and grid-scale batteries and buy EVs!!!
A dramatic image taken at Bamburgh Castle a few weeks ago. I found a nice pool of water for the foreground, which perfectly reflected the dramatic sunrise sky. Looking over some flat dark stones into the distance where the castle lies, a few photographers on the horizon enjoying this dramatic but beautiful morning.
No new images for 2 weeks due to some virus so sadly missing out on the share and fs print fun. Here's another shot from Bamburgh from a few weeks ago.

BREAKING: Prime Minister Keir Starmer addresses concerns about the impact of the war in Iran on the cost of living
What worries me is that I am not hearing enough talk about the Epsteins files.
hey, folks, just wanted to make a quick reminder about those things called The Epstein Files that the mainstream media was eager to stop talking about
A bonus step: Get vaccinated against shingles. It not only prevents that incredibly painful rash but growing research shows the vaccinated have a lower risk of developing dementia.
I don't know how you prepare a population for bad economic news because the US President is crazy. I do know the UK is considerably better placed to survive the worst case than many other countries. But it will worsen a long ongoing cost-of-living crisis.
The 5 Live phone in is usually an accurate barometer of the mood of the country.
Today's was overwhelming in support of the position adopted by Starmer.
Crude oil prices, showing a very sharp increase in the last day, from around 65 to 101 dollars per barrel..
Oil prices wouldn't be all over the news today if more of our economy was powered by local, secure renewable energy.
This isn't an "energy crisis". It's a fossil fuel crisis.
44% of UK electricity came from renewables in 2025. More of that plus an electrified economy => no more oil shocks.
This seems pretty bad for the environment.
I loved this scene today
and want you to see it as well.
Ice, sand, a woman and her dog were perfect in this imperfect world.
during the oil/gas crisis caused by Russia's invasion of Ukraime it was striking how some right-wingers tried to gaslight the public into believing the *biggest* problem with their soaring bills (at the time) was green levies rather than the oil/gas price going through the roof
One thing I've learnt about conflict investigation in this age of open source evidence is you always see the same lies, just dressed in different uniforms. "It can't be my side that blew up the mosque/hospital/school it's a false flag/errant munition from the other side" with scant evidence produced

Have done 2 tip trips, taken a tallboy to the good charity shop, arranged for a chair to be taken to mum’s church, vacuumed, shredded crap from my filing cabinet…I’m only having a small conservatory re-floored! 🤣
Now for some sea-staring. My dad was a sea-starer. I used to think it boring…
