sunday session endzone : sometimes repeats are a good thing.
good point.
it's almost like the whole point of the article was to have a moan-n-groan no matter how the week long experience went.
the fella should just succumb, buy loads of cds for a dollar, and learn to enjoy life with albums as opposed to the algorithm.
i just wish they had given the job to adrian sherwood re the dub album.
me and the other fella who got blamed re the theft of murdocs winnebago have been chatting recently.
he is totally in the same world as you re the new album.
'gorillaz retirement home' was mentioned.
while i love the new album, i totally get your point re them losing the fun aspect.
CD Coverart : Gorillaz - s/t
sunday session : not heard this in a very very long time.
will probably get bored and bail before the end.
i once saw a jeep done up exactly the same as this in bristol.
no idea if promo, or mad fan.
suspect the latter.
me in 1987 in my uniform of the day : black jeans, age of chance t-shirt, denim jacket.
you in another decade.

sunday session : yeah, grey-n-grim sundays are not the right time for dirty disco.
back to monotonic minimal techno.
sunday session : the flying mojito brothers are back in action.
they have been given access to tapes by tony joe white and have sprinkled their dirty disco gubbins here there and everywhere.
this is rather special.

not going to lie MC,
quite envious of your process re new albums/spotify.
you almost make me want to divvy up the ££ so i too can enjoy/experience new releases like you do.
but i have a budget and would rather use my funds on bandcamp etc.
tis submitting to the algorithm that i find depressing.
as is known, i buy cds.
i rip using an old XP machine.
add to the archive.
stream to my amp via an old sonos connect.
tis simple, but damn it works.
despite the lack of an algorithm.
ooh trust me, i decided it was best i not comment given my obvious bias.
the 12" remixes re the debut album, '1000 Years Of Trouble' era still sound fantastic to me.
as are the 12" versions of the Mecca era that were produced by the band and a lot better than the album would have you believe.
dont get me wrong, i have no problem re using spotify.
just not for me as i have no need for it.
tis the complete lack of adventure that's so depressing re the article.
life is so much more interesting when you let a whole album ebb and flow as opposed to submitting to the algorithm.
in other news : today i watched this newly released long form deep dive interview with keith leblanc where he goes into detail re his career.
absolutely wonderful stuff.
filmfreeway.com/LeithLeBlanc...
oh hell.o.
in other news : bloody hell.
how on earth have i managed to enjoy listening to music for the last 45 years without spotify.

oh, and skeewiff is here : @skeewiff.bsky.social
album coverart : various artists - skeewiff vs kpm
sunday session : after last nights social excess (i had an invite to another gathering following the cancellation),
tis time to head back to the library.
albeit with a twist.
this is such a cracking compilation of modern variants of the kpm groove
saturday session : well, following the tiga session,
this has just turned up on the playlist.
i only have this on an ep.
guess i should get more as i love it.

yeah, i fell out of the loop re hip hop as well round about the same time.
i.e. when djs/samples were no longer part of the mix.
hence why i have loved rediscovering it via the usual suspects i have mentioned here there and everywhere.
and yeah - gotta love a well mixed mixtape.
more like a folking horror.
ok, glad i stuck it out.
things improve massively after the mid mixtape lull.
last year i went down a rawkus rabbithole for a while.
no regrets.
yeah, i'm a walking cliche (in my 50s and still loves backpacker hip hop) but damn,
the label was on a roll for a couple of years.
imagine if they were both bon ivor records.
ok, not going to lie.
have heard better mixtapes by tiga.
guess this is why i have not listened to it all the through before.
pls note : this was not a complaint.
Picture of a box of 'Old Rosie' cider.
in other news : was meant to be going to a party this evening.
due to family issues they have cancelled.
guess it's a full on west wing session with this as company.
CD Coverart : Various Artists - Non Stop Mixed By Tiga
saturday session : having now listened to most of my bandcamp friday purchases (rsd + the black dog),
tis time for a mixtape.
not so sure i have actually listened to this before.
Peter Gabriel's So came out 40 years ago.
J Dilla's Donuts came out 20 years ago.
so this is curious
