Returning to Dublin, I briefly lament not having a local buddy to restrain and break me a little. Although grateful that Berlin is just a hop away...

I'm genuinely intrigued by this idea, though. What if we collectively put effort into building spaces for us to have deep, uninhibited experiences rather than pander to externality? What a different impact that could have. It bothers me that so many, those with titles, miss out on this aspect.

We often fear the concept of changing, but one can change for the better while retaining their foundation. I used to hold on to a version of me that I felt was sacred for an endlessly long time, but accepting that change wouldn’t make me worse was freeing. And I’ll continue to change over the years.

There’s probably a longer form article in all of this. About what our community should collectively build for ourselves, and to what extent we let it be commercially provided.

One thing is for certain. A glass of water for €4.10 is a deal with the devil and a serious failure to provide to a community.

Of course some of you know, I’ve been a long term skeptic of this event but still one way or another have gotten an obligation centred around it. The weekend still manages to be fun. Is that the fun I make for myself or what it provides?

It is a complicated position, being simultaneously a public figure for a community and also a skeptic of aspects of how that community is formed and what it stands for.

I’ve had a good weekend here in Antwerp, but it is a commercial event, and that still feels uncomfortable to me.
