Local journalists remain on the ground reporting under bombardment, hunger, and constant threats to their lives. They are some of the only eyes, ears, and voices keeping the world informed.

For almost two years, nearly 210 journalists have been killed in Gaza. Israel has blocked international press access – the most severe restriction in any modern conflict. This is a direct attack on people’s right to know the truth.

For the first time in history, 270 media outlets from over 70 countries joined together to make themselves heard. Front pages, websites, social media profiles, and broadcasts went dark to demand a stop to the killing of journalists and call for press freedom in Gaza.
