I found someone had scanned the entire July 31, 1982 TV Guide, and there it is - but 11:30 in the St. Louis edition means 12:30 Eastern, where a good number of NBC affiliates would have preempted it (including the one where I grew up).

The only reason I've ever heard of this is that I got a Sport Billy comic book as part of a kids' activity pack on British Airways in 1984. (Wikipedia claims it ran on NBC Saturday mornings in summer 1982, which I don't remember at all.)

One of the first issues of Passenger Train Journal magazine I ever saw had a cover story about New Jersey commuter train cars that were being retired. This most recent issue has a cover story about their replacements, which are being retired.

That looks more like the recording studio technicians and engineers who made yacht rock sound like it does.

I would guess, when you see this while watching streaming, it’s that for whatever reason (slow connection somewhere along the pipe or something like that), the ad server had trouble “figuring out” what ad it’s actually supposed to be showing you.

I was in Tampa for Christmas when that came out, and we took my 8-year-old niece, not paying enough attention to the PG-13 rating. She did NOT like the violence, and my sister ended up taking her out of the theater (fortunately in a mall, so there was other stuff to do).

What you sometimes see on cable is that individual cable systems are allowed to replace some national ads on cable channels with local spots, and their automated cues aren't always set up 100% correctly. (This has been an issue for decades!)

It doesn't happen on regular U.S. commercial TV, either, but weird things can occur when you're watching something via streaming rather than a more simple over-the-air or cable setup.
