I tell people all the time that there’s no such thing as “traditional” cuisine, only the way you and/or your family like it. There’s a reason why spaghetti dinner has a Japanese version that would make any Italian nonna apoplectic. 🤣

For real. I love Japanese cuisine, but I don’t love making it myself. I have reasonably easy access to the ingredients, but they’re not exactly my pantry stock items, and I don’t have a lifetime of experience making it. I make simple things like Curry Udon and leave the rest to Cooking with Dog.
