Claude: Done! I have eaten ten hamburgers. The first two were delicious, but after that I began to experience bloating and the meat sweats.

I blame the fact that for a long time people kept telling me I should make eye contact more, so I'm hyper-aware of it.

I don't know why but I have recently started to notice people's eyeballs in TV dramas. Specificially where they're looking when there's a close up. They seem to dart about all over the place. It's most distracting.

Ginger cat sitting on a wooden table back to use but looking over his shoulder at camera. He is next to an old fashioned phone. In front of him is a sash window opened a crack, most of which is covered by a green Venetian blind.
Two gulls fly across a corrugated cloud sky with the sun shining through it above be the roofs of West Hill and central Hastings.
An island in the middle of a boating lake with all the boats up on it. They are all covered with tarps but are clearly swan shaped. The buildings of Hastings Odd Town huddle together in the background.
Selfie of me in purple hat and headphones, looking at camera with one eye closed because the sun is in my face;

Wait - the corner of Olympic and Cloverfield, Santa Monica? Ladies and Gentlemen, that is almost exactly the location where the old Buffy offices stood. I believe we may owe thanks for this one to the Hellmouth.

Selfie of me with a purple Catmachine logo face mask on. Plus glasses and hat.
View of Central Hastings and the St Leopardβs Hill beyond from up on West Hill, a bush and an old wooden fence in the foreground. My house is in this photo.
Brightly painted terraced Victorian houses, blue, purple and pink.
The top of West Hill. Sea visible behind the swings and roundabouts of the playground. The deep blue of the left hand sky is being invaded by fingers of cloud from the grey dappled right hand sky.

Sounds interesting. I've also noticed that if I'm focussed (and, more importantly, interested) I completely forget that being hungry is a thing until I finish. Sounds like this is the same phenomenon.

Feels like my brain uses "needing to pee" as a way of stopping me doing things; although it could be that when I'm focussed I forget I need to and it's only when I need to switch tasks that I notice.

An arithmometer, a wooden box casing some switches and slides that act as an early digital calculator. It's all very steampunk with a dose of 70s rec room chic.
I know my geeks will love this. This is an arithmometer. It's your Texas Instruments digital calculator's great grandpappy. They started making these in the 1850s.

Good call! I suppose I could have gone as The Time Traveller from The Time Machine (Victorian garb) or Gollum, both of which may have been quite eccentric. I have no idea what anyone else was reading at the time.

Seeing articles mentioning the fact that the oldest trains currently in use on the tube are 1972 stock with the implication "Shock horror! How old!" and yet I clearly remember them still using 1938 stock in the late 1980s. Which of course was much older.
