I moved to NL. But I have no issue if someone moves there and does their own thing. Good on them.

Same logic applies to you if you take an extended holiday or sabbatical elsewhere. You’re not a resident there, you’re paying tourist taxes.
My health insurance that I pay for does indeed use the NHS + private hospitals. It also pays them when I use it.
When you visit a country for holidays, the locals there also pay for the police, roads, council. So whats the difference?
So that’s exactly why I pay for travel health insurance and VAT on goods when I visit.

Indeed, so to bring it back to the initial topic, why are we going after every day people moving abroad for a better life, rather than the James Dysons and Starbucks?

Passing the blame here won’t change much, we all had the same vote that day. We’re now at the “find out” stage of things.

Not especially, I'm on a higher tax rate (49.5%) living in NL than I was in the UK 🤷 The UK has just gotten worse and more expensive over the years, with nothing to show for it.
Quality of life is a big thing.
Other countries are simply more attractive. The UK used to be very attractive, can't say the same now.
Brexit, sewage into the sea, poor roads, awful government, the royal nonce, student fees, housing, cheaper to fly via another country than to take the train across the country. The list goes on.
The British ability to always hate on the successes of others is astounding. If they want repatriation, they can pay for it. But they left for a reason.
At a previous job we had an auto deletion rule in place for anything > 6mo. If it’s not been actioned in that time, it clearly wasn’t important enough.
Honestly, this. Build first, get your customers. Then consider if it’s really a move you want to make.

My aim is to Ask NanoClaw to write a feature, I & AI review, I accept, then auto deploy to servers via CI pipeline.
Lots of work and trial and error and securing before that.
