I began wanting a respectable SLR for floral and botanical shots, which the Canon ain’t great at.
Good for comparison.
I like diptychs and the enhanced grain for street and city stuff A LOT, but I know half frame currently has a hipster tendency. It’s nice to have the freedom to BRAAAAAP off a bunch of shots and not care, and as someone learning it lets me take the same shot twice with slightly different settings.
Double duty words
It’s cute, it’s heavy, and while I’m no great photographer the Canon takes some exceptional half frame photos
I’m young in the hobby, but my attachment to that thing will probably never break. It feels incredible in the hands and I’m only just getting into full frame photography, somewhat begrudgingly (I don’t have the money to splash out for an Olympus F Series SLR half frame). I love it to death.

When we move I plan on bulk loading fomapan for black and white and getting an enlarger. Making prints was favorite part in high school.
Real nice folks. Shame I discovered them 8 months prior to moving. I do have a storage area in our Buffalo basement set aside to become a darkroom, though.

I had mostly bad experiences with every shop here except for this one. The folks at Nelson Photography (down the street), dealing in only new stuff, have nice employees that told me about them.

Thanks! I picked it up from a local shop that guided me in this direction. I love the weight, the features are just about exactly what I want, CLA’d with a 90 day warranty, and I was able to support a camera shop that heavily supports the LGBTQ+ community. All around a very exciting day.
