Thanks to @brennanleemulligan.bsky.social, I knew this just from the picture
Fastball velo declined each inning. I donβt think he can maintain 95-97 for 75+ pitches. And he kind of needs that velo to extract value. The new slider is interesting, but he canβt survive without fastball value.
The other big story is Emerson Hancock. Weβve seen him have good springs, so weβll see. But the 44% whiff rate on a four seam is nuts. Also throwing a much firmer slider. Almost cutter like. He could be a boom guy IF they finally just stick him in the bullpen.
Kade Anderson had 8 whiffs in 14 swings. The big number there is a 43% whiff on the fastball. 30% is considered elite. A fastball-changeup lefty is so much fun to watch.
You shouldnβt be allowed to bet on anything but sports. This is sick
Fun note on Luis Castillo:
From 3/28-8/15: 3.19 ERA
from 8/15-9/01: 10.06 ERA
From 9/02- end of season: 1.07 ERA.
Dude can still pitch.
Portnoy is the biggest bitch in sports media. Just a fucking awful dude who will always play the victim when his bullshit behavior gets called out. Fuck him
Watched what they did to San Fran, smart man. Apparently patriots fans didnβt
Couldβve been 40-0 without them. Of course, Sam makes one or two extra throws, it probably still couldβve been
Brendan Donovan is pretty good. Heβs also a Seattle Mariner. So thatβs pretty, pretty, good
Is he hacked or is he starting a knock off OF page?
Pereda appears to be about an averagish catcher defensively. Some good hard hit rates, doesnβt chase, but also doesnβt make a ton of contact. A little pop. But what makes him most appealing is he has an option year left. Very likely to be stashed in AAA, but will compete with Knizner this spring.
My biggest concern is how they perform in the pass game. Charbonnet was good in pass pro. Theyβll miss some of his size at the goal line, but picking up the extra rusher is an asset Iβm not sure Holani/Akers/Jones has
If K9 will take a reasonable deal, Iβm fine with that. Heβs not an elite RB so Iβm not giving him top of the market money. If Allgeier comes in at less, Iβd rather grab him. But if the market takes off, Iβm fine grabbing a Najee or Dobbins and drafting a guy on day 2 or 3
Leonard Williams, JSN, Spoon, Darnold, and Ernest I think. Tons of great options this year
Iβll take Emerson assuming he gets to the bigs quick enough
Iβll take Emerson but Iβd be pleasantly surprised if any of them got to 2.5 wins this year
So basically what team could win the AL that would surprise me, but is actually possible? I like the Royals this year. Iβd like them more if they added another bat. But Iβll say KC
I need to be more active on here and Iβm still trying to navigate the site so this is a shot in the dark, but if anybody has some #AMA questions, fire away. #Mariners #Seahawks always on the table, but so is literally anything else so fire away and letβs start trying to build a platform here.
Just a hunch, but I wouldnβt be too shocked if the Mariners have checked in, had talks about, or inquired about the availability of (whatever platitude you want) Otto Lopez.
Is Leonard Williams the most underrated player in the league? Good lord
Terribly underthrown ball being bailed out by a PI call is the most NFL play there is
Immediate thoughts on Kyle Tucker getting $60 million AAV: Julio Rodriguez and Cal Raleigh are fucking bargains.
The Seahawks actually need a RB next year soβ¦.
Iβm not taking a shot at him, but McDaniel saying weather isnβt a factor while heβs dressed like heβs going bushcrafting in Alaska is objectively hilarious. Or at least ironic.
Why would Shaheed field that punt?
If it looks like this, please feel free to keep it.
There are a large number of reasons why it wonβt happen, but a Luis Castillo for Kodai Senga swap would be fun. Mets get more safety and floor, Mariners take a shot on a guy who hasnβt been quite as good since his injury, but save some money and gain serious upside.
Harrison Cohen is kind of interesting
