Beavertown all over the french Alps this winter. Being pushed by Heineken. Guess they might have excess stock. Sadly it's winning taps due to deals that I would normally be winning with my small craft brewery here
@nedboulting.bsky.social have you seen this?
If you chaps fancy visiting a brewery in Aime La Plagne when you're here in the Alps let me know. I run one here called Sapaudia, named after the Latin word for Savoie. Would love to give you guys some beers in return for the excellent pods. And gutted that ITV coverage is coming to an end!
I note the landlord of the Devonshire is now pushing Landlord. Maybe the influencers will be all nailing pints of Timmy Ts soon!

If there is anymore taxes on business owners then my (admittedly small) SAS here will be done with.
Although we still don't even have a budget here so god knows how they'll hit the spending targets. Can France unlock money tied up in seized russian assets? They can sell all of chalets in Courchevel
Everything feels quite bleak atm. Economies in the bin, Europe a mess, trump, climate. As a small struggling business owner I'd like to find some optimism but struggling.
And owing HMRC 2 million (allegedly) how does that even happen? Must admit I'm not 'business' enough to understand how you can get away with not filing accounts etc.
Anyone (especially in brewing) feeling optimistic for 2025? This year has been savage.
Try selling and buying beer in the french Alps! People are selling pints of peroni for 10โฌ therefore our beer 'has' to be 11โฌ. These bars are doing absolutely insane margins on lager and just fleecing tourists.
But no one seems to care and the locals get priced out.
Might become a Landlord influencer in 2025. In the style of all the Guinness ones who are surely on the Diageo payroll.
Roll up to some excellent West Yorkshire pub on a Lime Bike and chin some delicious pints.
Probably more money in it than actually being a brewery owner too.
Walking or snow shoeing?
I live in Bourg Saint Maurice which is at 800m so generally snow clear most of the year but we have a funicular straight into les arcs
Might move back from France tbh
Back in England for a short visit
Yeah I'd like to know more about how it's all gone absolutely bonkers.
The big files of notes can defeat the Brexiteers, but not the mighty forces of left, right and the deficit.
Wow. That's quite insane.
Good legacy.

First ever Savoyard PM (I think?)

This is... Suboptimal.
If we were all on twitter now, imagine how many posts there would be like this:

Is it April fools day already?
This is kinda part of the problem. Strong Belgian beers are seen as a reference as 'good'. Not modern lighter hop forward styles.
Happy to chat in more detail off here if you like.
Anecdotally I know sales are down across the board on all beer. I've heard this from big brewers and distribution. Our sales being 10% down is considered 'good'. This year has been terrible weather, Olympics and an election plus cost of living issues. I think Heineken are cutting losses.
