Gander exists, there aren't a lot of people because it's in beta and invite only for now. The type of user base seems very similar to Bluesky. It is based on good principles so there's hope that it could be good.
I agree, the author of that article is not making any sense.
A ChatGPT subscription doesn't come even close to pay for the costs that OpenAI incurs for the queries that a user make. It's not the subscriptions that are bankrolling authoritarianism, it's Wall Street. OpenAI's money come entirely from the investor's pockets, so it's not that easy.
Working people are falling further behind. Instead of helping families, the government is giving out tax breaks for yachts and private jets.
We need to fight back, and put people before profits.

I see. So my feeling was correct.
Thank you for doing subtitles the right way. The eye and brain need full sentences, or as close as possible to full sentences, to process the information correctly.
I studied the topic of subtitles years ago but haven't looked into that recently - especially not in relation to social media. I find the subtitles on most videos impossible to follow because they only write a few words at a time. Are those AI-generated?
This is a fantastic way of explaining people what enshittification is. I love it.
The West can recognize it was a mistake for Ukraine to give up its nuclear weapons because it left the door open to the invasion from Russia, but will not accept that countries like Iran and North Korea desire them to stop Western meddling and attacks.
+1
It's so good that it earned a permanent space in a tab in my browser.
Oh boy, don't I have a list to share with you...

The issue on top of the list of problems for me, is that using AI the way I see some of my friends use it, it hands over our critical thinking capacities to an entity that has no real connection to us. Critical thinking is key to our human race. It makes me really sad and fearful of what's to come.
When he promises a surplus we get a deficit. How much should we worry?
Tony talks book and car sharing to a very pleased sharer in Vancouver. Just another way to help us reduce our demand on resources. We need more of this in Canada. Vote Tony McQuail for the NDP Leadership if you want a more sharing economy, designed for people. #ndp2026 #ndp #carshare #library

I'm not running to babysit a Liberal government. We run hard, and we win big.
I'm not the only one excited about the next election. I've seen it in communities all over this country.
New Democrats are ready to hit the ground and show what the NDP is all about 🧡

I know I'm talking about Federal things, but still, she is malicious and she knows it.
Don't forget that temporary workers will always pay more than they get, because they pay for EI, but can't get it because if they lose their jobs they have to leave the country. They also pay for pensions that most of the times they won't get.
I know liberals see this as "Yay! Building up that majority! Bleeding Poilievre dry!"
But for the rest of us, this is a huge red flag.
These people ran on a platform of hate, xenophobia and fear mongering. What does it say that they feel seen by the Liberals right now? Yikes.
"Stand With Cuba" A Message From Tony McQuail photo of a dog crossing a street in Cuba. There are 4 parked cars and the street is lined with older 3 and 4 story buildings typical in Havana, Cuba. Far down the street framed by buildings on both sides is a large group of people.
The human rights of Cubans are being violated by the USA and everyone else who is complicit in keeping the sanctions and the illegal blockade in place. You might not like Cuba or their government, but it doesn't mean that you need to starve their population.
You should look at it the other way around: you can be anti-Cuba without also endorsing the USA. It's not just Trump: the USA have been attacking Cuba since 1960 and none of the governments since then has done anything to give Cubans any peace.
Working people are falling further behind. Instead of helping families, the government is giving out tax breaks for yaughts and private jets.
We need to fight back, put people before profits and make life more affordable for everyday people, now.

After sports, I'll ask the machine personalize for me the contents of news, so I only see what I like. Perfect world. Me happy.
That sounds great! I want to be able to change the scores of what I'm watching so my favourites can win - but only in my mind. Everyone can be a winner!
Then I'll delegate the decision to the machine because it's too much work for me. Machine make me happy.

It's interesting that what we understand about bodies (you can't get stronger by sitting beside a machine that lifts weights) seems less well understood about minds. I don't think you can get more artful or more wise by sitting beside a machine that makes art or paraphrases ideas.
Labour rights are human rights.
Devastating news as workers of a Canadian company in Mexico are kidnapped and found dead.
Employers have a fundamental duty to ensure the health and safety of all workers, everywhere.
