So many people in Mid Cheshire have been screwed over by the current leasehold system. I'm delighted that the Government are taking steps to tackle it, but much more needs to be done.
I discuss this topic more in my latest column for the Northwich and Winsford Guardianπ
This is exactly my worry. I'm reminded that the people who were calling for a Grand Theft Auto ban when I was in my teens are the people who have fallen victim to a Facebook/YouTube algorithm that re-enforces their worst prejudices and actively radicalises.

Online safety and screen time for kids is a hot topic at the minute.
In this weeks column I've pondered over the Government's first national screen time guidance for under-fives. I'm really interested to hear people's thoughts on this as well as the wider consultation.

Hi Thomas. If you want to drop me an email with the details, I'll look into it for you.
My first Northwich and Winsford Guardian column of the year focuses on the case for reopening Middlewich train station.
I also raised this in the chamber yesterday and I'm really pleased that the Transport Secretary has agreed to discuss the idea with me.
This is good. It is reminiscent of my frustrations trying to get rail investment in Mid Cheshire.

One of my all time favourite films. Endlessly quotable.
"Where are you going?"
"To see if there's a pub!"
Galaxy Quest - a perfect movie, just a wonderful love letter to actors, sci-fi, Star Trek in particular, and to fandom - really deserves a proper physical release with decent extras. Think Weaver's right that releasing a R-rated cut would be fun, too.
I thoroughly enjoyed my recent visit to Winsford's Men in Sheds.

I'm pleased to reaffirm my support for strengthening the Hunting Act.
Public support for action to combat ongoing fox, stag and hare hunting remains high, with strong, consistent support among voters of all parties and across all regions of the country, including here in Mid Cheshire.
π In Mid-Cheshire, residents met with @andrewcooper.net MP to discuss the importance of the Climate and Nature Bill, and to call for stronger action on the climate-nature crisis.

π΅Last week I had a lovely visit to Eleven, one of Mid Cheshire's many brilliant independent businesses.
We had a good chat about the challenges facing small hospitality businesses. My column below outlines a few of the Government measures designed to support these types of establishments π
Politics should never be about talking at people; it should be about talking with them.
Coffee mornings are a key way that I connect with my constituents and I always leave these coffee mornings with pages of notes and a renewed sense of purpose.
This is your vote, your choice. You the members choose your Deputy Leader.
Having this conversation is not dissent, but an important conversation about how we can be better.
