Itβs estimated that the western parts of Kansas have about 25 years of water left in the aquifer. The farmers have resisted any changes by the state because they think they can do better, yet here we are, and they havenβt made much, if any progress at all on conservation efforts.

The Republicans in the statehouse have a super-majority, so itβs hard to get any common-sense legislation through. Theyβre all trying to make Kansas look like Texas, and only the state Supreme Court and governor are holding back the idiocy. Those of us that can are trying to fix this.
