What I liked about Substack was being able to turn all that info off. I have no idea how many subscribers/followers I had there, and that’s the way I like it. On Patreon, it’s disheartening to see that number drop when you’re trying to get it to increase. Especially when they’re free subscribers. 😒
Patreon baffles me sometimes. Every time I post, I gain a subscriber and lose a subscriber. Because my last newsletter had a short story about the Orange Führer, I expected to lose a lot of subscribers. I’m still in subscriber limbo, but I expected worse.
I just told my neighbour about what happened yesterday. It now amuses me that only I can ignite a washing machine while it’s full of water.

That’s the way I’m looking at it. When my plumber was in a few weeks ago, he took one look at the washer and shook his head. When I told him my water bill was $500 each quarter, he pointed out half of that was the ancient washer and the ancient toilet. I’ve been looking for an excuse to replace both
I’m not getting it fixed. That washer isn’t energy efficient and is responsible for my high water and electric bills. It’s a blessing, but the replacement I’m wanting is a $2000 curse to my bank account. 😒

I thought I was being helpful. I threw this old duvet into the washing machine, turned it on and walked away. I heard a screaming noise coming from the laundry room, when I got there, the room was filled with smoke. Now, the washer is leaking and no longer spins.
