This feels unnecessary to be upset about but if I don’t look at it like it’s not obvious then I won’t be able to understand why I get elevated when I don’t get the answer I’m looking for when asking a straightforward question. It’s too early for this many thinking.

I want to know how you’re doing, not what you’ve been doing. Once I’m done asking how you’re doing I’m going to ask why if I want to know, or at least start the response with “Good! Had a really good lunch today” or whatever, just follow up the adjective with the reason at least.

But by answering with the events leading up to the meeting the responsibility of determining their day has been transferred to the asker. Realizing that so so so many of our modern colloquialisms are based around shuffling responsibility is enlightening and frustrating.

I just had an “Oh now I get it” moment.

“How are you doing?” Is often answered with the person describing their day or stuff they want to share about how they’ve been since they last saw you. That’s not an answer to How are you doing. “Good” “Bad” “Fine” are answers to How are you doing.

Anything? So that hall has a fully functional goon cave of all different styles? It has a toenail sand castle emporium? Is has a rocket ship filled with Vaseline and Cheetos? It has a submarine that shoots giant gummy worms covered in labubus? It seems like Disney missed a few possible experiences.

So the Disney movie Soul has a section where the characters go into a place called the Hall of Everything where anything that could take place on earth they are allowed to experience in order to fill out their earth pass so they can go to earth and be born. With that in mind… ANYTHING?…
