Woof, that’s a nasty tackle. When they upgrade it he can’t complain

Aw, well

Lollllll

07.03.2026 19:25 👍 6 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0

Yeah lol, I’m mostly even talking about it bc there’s chatter like he could’ve worked his way into more minutes or something

Was great against Palace too imo, but otherwise agree, just don’t think today really mattered tbh

Personally I think Jesus has had numerous “prove it” types of games even just this season, Inter comes to mind as do a few right after he returned to health, but I still would look other directions if a late goal is needed right now, that’s all.

I think the idea that Max could come on late in a first team game to make something happen is perfectly valid, but not affected at all by today.

07.03.2026 18:38 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0

I’m not slating or underestimating Max at all, just the idea that an old head needs to prove himself today. Go looking for that every chance you can and you’ll come back empty more than not

I get where you’re coming from here, just think it’s flawed to think Mansfield away determines anything

07.03.2026 18:14 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0

Because of all the big goals he’s scored so far?

07.03.2026 18:05 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0

Yes, xg and other advanced metrics are far more predictive of future, which is why all the stats folks saw the implosion down the stretch coming

07.03.2026 18:04 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0

Now imagine if they’d signed someone even better!

Players coming in and out for net zero or slight net gain/loss but no advancement as a club is not effective recruitment, it’s churn.

The cracks with Nuno were there before Edu. Underlying performance last season rivaled that of Tottenham, it wasn’t going to last

07.03.2026 17:59 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0

lol yeah a guy hired by the involved owner definitely changed things that much in a month 😂

07.03.2026 17:51 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0

I mean that’ll happen when you aimlessly move from one coach to another with contrasting styles lol. The reason Forest fell off so hard second half was because they were never that good in the first place, just lucky. I watch a lot ☺️

You can list guys you think prove your point but they plopped €30m+ on guys who won’t move the needle behind Anderson/Milenkovic, signed Taiwo, Dennis, Niakhate, Danilo, Mangala, Biancone, Turner, Nuno T, Omobamidele, etc as well. Imagine what impactful recruitment could’ve achieved in its place

07.03.2026 17:44 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0

Every team has guys who’ve done better and guys who haven’t done well. Perhaps if the recruiting was so good NFFC wouldn’t be in the bottom half of the league on underlying performance repeatedly

07.03.2026 17:41 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 2 📌 0

I think that’s unnecessarily harsh for no reason frankly

07.03.2026 17:36 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0

They played about the same as they had last season under Nuno, just fewer fluky results to keep the doubters quiet

07.03.2026 17:33 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0

Their recruiting was poor prior to him and will remain poor with him gone

07.03.2026 17:19 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0

100 percent agree

07.03.2026 16:51 👍 6 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0

That’s a bummer, I hold no ill will for Edu and think a lot of Arsenal fans have misinformed opinions on him. I can understand what he was doing but ultimately he clearly joined a toxic organization

This is gonna sound like a joke but I think the difference is Andy Robertson scored a 20-yard screamer and then everyone got into a better mood. Sometimes the vibes make a mountain of difference

07.03.2026 15:29 👍 14 🔁 1 💬 0 📌 0

I think it’s all a bit overwrought, frankly. Martinelli didn’t see an uptick from Pompey nor did Eze from his cup performance. These guys have track records and training on top of games, we overindex individual performances because we have a week or days between them to overthink.

07.03.2026 15:23 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0

But they didn’t get more minutes because of what they did, nor would Jesus. As you said, third especially with Havertz back.

07.03.2026 15:18 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0

You’d think at some point we’d just get tired of all the tribalism all the time. We get it enough from outside the fan base

07.03.2026 14:57 👍 6 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0

I think that’s far more likely if you don’t already have your manager’s trust in spades, which Jesus does

07.03.2026 14:48 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0

Nah, if he shows out against Mansfield he’s in the same situation. E.G. Martinelli vs Portsmouth or Eze vs Port Vale

07.03.2026 14:46 👍 2 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0

Yeah I think if you want a good illustration on familiarity breeds contempt, you can just look at the views on Martinelli vs Noni, or Eze vs Ødegaard. Despite the longer term guys having far more credit in the bank, they’re judged on a much harsher curve

07.03.2026 14:45 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 2 📌 0

It’s highly likely that the way he trains this week has more bearing on whether he plays vs Leverkusen or Everton
