I feel like the most useful thing would probably be keeping track of running totals of contributions (potentially grouped by source). Events during streams can be handled normally, but having goal meters up to date without manually syncing would be handy while limiting how much state to manage.

I've been tinkering a bit with persistence here to see if this might work for things like monetary events through other channels (tiltify etc) which are not as aligned with stream lifetime. My feeling is right now this would need a scene instance to be kept alive somewhere permanently.

There are ways to lock out the home button to avoid hitting it by mistake, the Lightning to HDMI adapter might be a bit more of a debatable purchase at this point. But if you can find one for $10 or so that works, just hook it up to your capture card.
