We told you this is what they were doing. Now here's the proof that this regime and "DOGE" in specific used "AI" tools to summarize and flag grants and grant applications as "DEI," based on a list of keywords. And this "ctrl+f w/ extra steps" bullshit completely circumvented congressional oversight.

Corporate Media Buries Story of US and Israel Killing 168 in Girls School Attack No front-page stories in NYT, WSJ, WaPo. No mention on NBC and CBS Sunday Shows. No stand alone segments on Evening News shows. A death count on par with the OKC bombing is relegated to the back page.

I wrote about how the US and Israel carried out an attack on an Iranian girls school on par with the OKC bombing and US media relegated it to a back page story. No stand alone evening news segments, no front page stories, it made A11 in the NYT then everyone moved on.

No right to relicense this project · Issue #327 · chardet/chardet Hi, I'm Mark Pilgrim. You may remember me from such classics as "Dive Into Python" and "Universal Character Encoding Detector." I am the original author of chardet. First off, I would like to thank...

People are now using LLMs to create derivative rewrites of open source projects to give them cover for bullshit relicensing attempts.

Why I don't think AI is a bubble · honnibal.dev Matthew Honnibal is a computational linguist from Sydney based in Berlin, Germany. He's the author of the spaCy Natural Language Processing library and the co-founder of Explosion.

I guess my socials are way more tech focussed than my...social, so maybe this take gets kind of a "duh" here. Not sure. But: Why I don't think AI is a bubble honnibal.dev/blog/ai-bubble (basically an argument that LLM progress probably won't plateau. Not a finance guy)

It occurs to me that if the government did force UK writers to hand over their work to the big AI companies, that would now among other things mean contributing to the development of US advanced weapon systems.

Across social media and the Al industry, people immediately began to challenge Altman's claim.
Why, they asked, would the Pentagon suddenly agree to the red lines that it had said — in no uncertain terms — that it would never do so?
The answer, sources told The Verge, is that the Pentagon didn't budge. OpenAl agreed to follow laws that have allowed for mass surveillance in the past, while insisting they protect its red lines.
One source familiar with the Pentagon's negotiations with Al companies confirmed that OpenAl's deal is much softer than the one Anthropic was pushing for, thanks largely to three words: "any lawful use." In negotiations, the person said, the Pentagon wouldn't back down on its desire to collect and analyze bulk data on Americans. If you look line-by-line at the OpenAl terms, the source said, every aspect of it boils down to: If it's technically legal, then the US military can use OpenAl's technology to carry it out. And over the past decades, the US government has stretched the definition of

CW: transphobia.

See, this is why it can be painful to know too much history.🫤

This post implies that what is happening in Kansas is *similar* to what the nazis did.

But it's not just similar. It's *identical*.

In 1933, nazis revoked trans people's documents. Before 1938.

Paragraph 175 and 183.

>Another key aspect of this kind of flow is that the activity should provide “clear clues as to how well one is performing.” The makers of modern slot machines have gone to great lengths to do the opposite, creating the outcome of a Loss Disguised as a Win (LDW).

Meta Plans to Add Facial Recognition Technology to Its Smart Glasses

Meta's plan for launching glasses that people can use to secretly identify strangers on the street is to do it "during a dynamic political environment" when people who care about why that's bad are "focused on other concerns."
