I am not trying to do the whole "everything's a distraction" thing, but the DOJ holding onto specific allegations about Trump assaulting a minor and releasing them after a war against Iran has taken center stage is, uh... noteworthy timing.
You also forgot we can't get the good sunscreen anymore

a sketchy line illustration of two nude women about to kiss each other, they both have long hair which swirls around them both, the background is a putrid green yellow with swirls of pink. in the corners are dark green, cream and pink splotches

Buried lede: Meta sends all your nudes to Kenya where humans annotate it and feed it to AI
Like the anti-vaccine stuff, this is deliberate biological warfare on the American underclass. (Gay people, in this case, because the right still believes shit from the 1980s.)
Life is cruel.

This soup is always SO good. It happens to be vegan, can be made mild or spicy, and itβs quick.
Also the post below is part of my big soup recipe thread, which you should browse and contribute to by adding your fave soup recipes to the original thread! #SoupSky
A library!! My favorite thing!
I am looking for a wordβ¦
I want a term that is less academic than βsyllabusβ or βprimerβ for a database of reading, multimedia, and training resources on a particular topic. I donβt want it to sound stuffy or elite or inaccessible or intimidating.
Any ideas? Please and thank you!

Weβre either going to have a real privacy reckoning in this country once this stuff drops or weβre going to submit to a staggering almost unimaginable privacy nightmare.

This is right. And people hate to hear it, but Joe Bidenβs single most important task was to Trump-proof the US.
His task was to destroy the Republican Party to punish them for Trump, salt the earth over them, and implement big structural reforms to stop future R minority extremism.
And he failed.
Maybe itβs because Iβm a colonial historian but so many of these white nation states seem to behave exactly like they did in the 19th century: βyour leaders arenβt right for you,β βweβre only killing you/colonizing you/installing puppet leaders for your own goodβ
Jayme Lawson from Sinners hit the nail on the head and said how I felt with the whole BAFTAs situation.
I keep thinking about how the propaganda leading to this war was all about how you needed to rescue women and the first thing they did was kill dozens of little girls.
Remember when people thought chiropractics was real medicine?
Thank you! Iβm pleased with it!
A rectangular two-layer carrot cake with thick layers of pistachio cream cheese icing and topped with honey-roasted pistachios
Here it is!
I made a masala chai carrot cake for my partnerβs birthday and I am nervous about how it turned out but not nervous enough that I resisted the impulse to modify the recipe even though Iβve never baked it before.
Guilt & shame are healthy emotions that help you course correct when youβve run afoul of your values.
When you learn better, do better. Itβs not too late to do good. Itβs morally courageous to grow.
Simple ways to do better:
- Reject AI
- Wear an n95 in public
- Donβt read or write on substack
GOOD NEWS! A UNIVERSAL sarbecovirus vaccine candidate has OFFICIALLY started clinical trials. GBP511 is the FIRST vaccine to reach human testing that is intended to protect against MULTIPLE strains of SARS-CoV-2 as well as other related coronaviruses with the potential to spark dangerous outbreaks.
Last week, for the first time in 20 years, a man died from a treatable snake bite on my home island of Martinique. He had asked chatGPT what to do instead of going the hospital. He missed the 6 hours treatable window.
If you donβt think you know anyone with long covid what you really mean is that people are uncomfortable sharing their health status with you or there are people who have dropped out of your life (due to illness) that you havenβt checked up on.
Remember:
- Action is the antidote to despair.
- You must engage in solidarity with your community, not just your friends.
- Illness is a tool used by fascists to harm vulnerable groups & weaken resistance. Wear an n95 mask. Give/get mutual aid at link below.
- Rest, reengage, repeat.
Psst!

As soon as you say bad people shouldn't get legal representation, the government will say everyone who needs legal representation is a bad person.
(They're already doing it, in fact, and some of you are falling for it.)
