As we trudge to the end of the seventh week of the month, we offer you a pair of exquisite Instagram #FanArtFriday delights to help take your mind off the temporal anomaly known as January. The Viva Piñata piece comes from avocobbo, while the very junior Reaper is by colourmefun.

A tree of Obscene Size stands dressed in a generous amount of baubles, begging the question of who was bold enough to decorate its highest branches?

Rare staff look very happy in their overly festive attire. The table they're sitting at is decorated in a long, green, fuzzy tablemat and wiggly red (fake) candles to give the image the air of Seussian whimsy necessary to justify the Grinch's presence.

Eight Rare staff and one very dedicated Grinch grin at a camera somewhere slightly above where most of them have got the impression they need to look.

Food! On a plate! Roast potatoes and veg, a wellington and a wide Yorkshire pudding. Truly the sort of meal to put you in a two-hour coma at least.

The festive season has truly arrived at the @rare.co.uk studio with the usual oversized tree (where gifts for @trusselluk.bsky.social are being amassed), seasonal grub and a visit from the actual Mr. Grinch man himself. Who shouted at us. A lot. 10/10 day.

Currently lamenting the absence of free noodles in November with a little #FanArtFriday distraction. Two from Twitter/X this week, with some @seaofthieves.com paintings from BAM_BaLam_Media and an outrageously cute depiction of blue-haired bug-slaughterer Vela by SafeTortilla.

The box art of Banjo-Tooie as it was released on the N64, featuring Banjo, Kazooie and Mumbo staring you down with looks of happy intimidation. The box also happily exclaims that the game is 'only for' Nintendo 64, which was accurate at the time. Nowadays you can play it on Xbox Series S/X, via Cloud Gaming or even Nintendo Switch. Isn't modern gaming delightful? ISN'T IT?
